NETIZEN: SMELLY NS BOYS CAUSE AIR POLLUTION ON PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Why Singapore army boys no initiative? You know how smelly and stinking they are when they book out and taking the MRT and bus? They should just take taxi, grab or uber together among themselves! That pungent smell of theirs is making people sick and nauseated in the trains and buses, imagine on a Friday evening where the train is filled with them?

DOES LTA ALLOW PRIVATE BUSES TO PICK UP PASSENGERS LIKE PUBLIC BUSES?

What is the LTA doing lately? There are so many private buses appearing along Bras Basah, Orchard and Shenton Way area providing illegal bus services! Why no enforcement? I have seen private buses without any signage stopping at almost every stops at Shenton Way between 8.15am to 8.55am and also picking up passengers along Shenton Way and Orchard area bus stops between 5.45pm to 7pm!

SINGAPORE MRT TRAINS TO START LATER & END EARLIER

I refer to the article “Why train services must end earlier” (Straits Times, Apr 8). It states that “This is why SMRT is ending service between Lakeside and Joo Koon, as well as between Tanah Merah and Changi Airport, earlier at 11pm on April 14 and 21 (Lakeside-Joo Koon), and April 28 and May 5 (Tanah Merah-Changi Airport).

KHAW BOON WAN HINTS S”POREANS HAVE TO PAY MORE FOR PUBLIC TRANSPORT SOON?

Speaking in Parliament today, PAP Transport Minister and official story-teller, Khaw Boon Wan said that the upcoming fare formula revision would need to factor in the increasing burden on the government (under the disguised term of "taxpayers") in injecting subsidies into the public transport system. Touching on the new bus contracting model for instance, Khaw said that: "We pay bus operators a fee to run the bus services. Although fare revenue goes to the Government, it is not enough to cover operating costs."

MOTHER WHOSE AUTISTIC KID WENT MISSING “BLAMES” BUS DRIVER FOR GIVING HIM FREE RIDE

Last Friday, my 12-year-old son, who has autism, disappeared. I am so thankful to those who supported me in my search. I posted an appeal for help on Facebook, which was shared more than a thousand times. But how could he have taken a bus since he does not have a bus pass? Did the bus driver graciously give him a ride? It is almost impossible to search for a child with autism if he has taken public transport away from the original location. I hope that public transport operators will refrain from giving rides to children or adults who cannot pay and cannot explain why they cannot pay. Better still, they should alert the transport service's help station or contact the person's caregivers immediately.

COMMUTERS HAPPY WITH SERVICE OFFERED BY MRT AND BUSES

Just who did the Public Transport Council (PTC) survey? 96.4% satisfied that the the services offered by MRT and bus improved? Wonder they survey all these people during non-peak hours, where there are no jam-packed public trains and buses, the buses arrived on time because all car drivers already at work, and MRT never breaks down. Try asking the commuters taking the train and buses during actual peak hours. Surely the result would have been 96.4% not satisfied.

WHY DO SILLYPOREANS INSIST TO BUY CARS WHEN PUBLIC TRANSPORT & UBER IS FASTER & CHEAPER?

COE is so expensive, yet Singaporeans continue to buy and use cars as their daily transportation. I found this breakdown on the internet and what it shows makes perfect sense. It is so much more expensive to buy a car than to rely on public transport. It is plain stupid to own a car in Singapore. It is tiring to drive and a waste of time to get stuck in the jam during morning and evening peak hour. I hope sillyporeans who still treat cars as status symbols to wake up their idea, no many how rich you are, you still die one day and none of the riches can be brought along.
