UK SURVEY: TAXI FARES IN SG THE 20TH CHEAPEST IN THE WORLD!

According to a survey by UK-based car dealer Carspring, taxi fares in Singapore are actually the 20th cheapest in the world. The survey supposedly took into account many factors such as the cost to hail a taxi, to travel from city centre to the airport, and cost per km. Do you think it's accurate? If it's really that cheap we wouldn't have to tahan train delays everyday.

LTA: SIGNALLING IS COMPLEX BUT WE’RE WORKING HARD TO IMPROVE IT

The Chief Executives of LTA and SMRT trains responded to constant train delays by saying that re-signalling is a complex exercise. The signal testing has no choice but to continue for full days and especially under demanding conditions during peak period. They explain there are still mitigating measures like free bus services and in-station announcements to help commuters when there are disruptions. "We are sparing no expense to improve our rail system’s reliability, including completing the replacement of the ageing signalling system, which turns 30 years old this year. We seek commuters’ understanding as we continue with the tests. We also thank readers for their suggestions and will study them."

LTA: STRAITS TIMES FALSELY REPORTED ABOUT LRT COLLISION AT SENGKANG

Orh hor, the Straits Times anyhow report that two LRTs collided at Sengkang! In its clarification today, the Land Transport Authority explained that ST's article was "erroneous" and "misleading" as there was no collision on the LRT line. It said the two LRTs were actually coupled and travelling as one train when it suddenly stalled, causing passengers to lose their balance. LTA believed people may have gotten the wrong impression that the trailing train-car collided with the one in front. It assured the public that all passengers were alright as the staff manually drove them to another station safely.

NO DISCIPLINE KIDS PLAYED SOCCER, ATE & DIRTIED PUBLIC BUS

Some kids were making a lot of noises shouting and playing on bus 153 and throwing a ball around. The ball even went from all the way back to the front of the bus. One of them fell when crawling over a seat and broke his front tooth and started crying. They were also eating what seems like an ice-cream and playing with a plastic cup of water that spilled.

I guess everyone have been warned that there will be more train disruptions coming up as they need to test signal during the peak hours too. The reason they are doing this in June is because there many typical Singaproeans that will overseas during this period and all commuter ought to understand this. A temporary inconvenience is essential for long term convenience it's better to disrupt or even close the entire system now than during school term days. Now, I understand that during disruption is extremely difficult to get a taxi and grab and uber will surge, please understand that everyone wants to get home quickly and needs a cab, so those that are not in the bad rush, like students, singles and army boys please take the bus so that they don't add on to the surge. So please, stop complaining about train disruptions and move on, be positive.
