CONFIRMED! SG COMPANIES TAKE LONGER TO PROMOTE EMPLOYEES

Another survey that will probably confirm what we have all been thinking and saying all these years about. Jobstreet.com had released a report that showed workers in Singapore have to wait much longer than others in the region to get a promotion, and they hold different views from employers on how one gets promoted at work.

The findings also indicated that companies here take close to four years to offer formal promotions to employees, which is about a year longer than those in the region. However, workers here perceive that a promotion is given in about five years. So, give and take one year, then the reality and perceived thinking about promotions are not that far off. Sometimes, promotion is just a token act, and the benefits and remuneration that comes with it does not really change that much.

SIA REASSURES STAFF ON MC RIGHTS, STAFF STILL UNHAPPY

However, staff were still disappointed in the circular, as they indicated that it is still quite clear that the SIA management sees nothing wrong with the current practice. and there is no mention of a possible review or rethink, which is quite disheartening. Staff also indicated the current system penalises everyone, including those who are genuinely ill. It does not matter how much. The fact that weightage is given to the MC component is taken into account is unfair.

COLD STORAGE PUTS UP INSENSITIVE DEEPAVALI PROMOTION, GIVES 38% DISCOUNT FOR BEEF PRODUCTS

I saw this story on marketing website Mumbrella Asia highlighting Cold Storage's Deepavali promotion of... 38% off beef! Personally I am just astounded that a large organisation can make such a huge mistake like this, and worse the promo and the marketing collateral must have gone through several approval layers so it's not a case of one single idiot to blame.

EXPOSED: GYUU JAP RESTAURANT RUNNING FAKE X'MAS PROMOTION

I went to this restaurant GYUU, Emporium Shokuhin at Marina Square with my hubby for lunch today and we were recommended this festive holiday set for 2 at promotion price of $168, which it stated the original price was "up $180++". The promotion card also stated the 8 delectable courses and 2 complimentary drinks. We thought it was a good buy and we opted for this set. However, after I finished my food and was about to call for the bill, I made a calculation on the food price based on ala carte price and to my dismay, the total price was much cheaper than the so called promotion price. It cost only $157 with all the food that I had.

BREADTALK ENDS SG50 PROMOTION EARLY, TOTAL LACK IN TRUST & INTEGRITY?

I've been a loyal customer and a big fan of your floss bun for years. I decided to purchase 4 floss buns as the banner outside your store stated that the promotion of 50c off per $5 purchase of buns was still ongoing. To my utter dismay and disbelief, I was told by the cashier that this promotion was over, despite the banner saying otherwise! Being somewhat skeptical, I went to ask other members of the staff in the same branch, all of whom concured with the cashier.
