A contributor sent in a video showing a flooded carpark at Joo Seng today. According to our contributor, the Joo Seng area has allegedly faced ponding for years. It is puzzling why this area still gets ponding despite these feedback. Perhaps the Member of Parliament (MP) Professor Fatimah Lateef can shed light on this issue when she goes on her next walkabout. Surely her residents deserve an explanation.

US CITIZEN CUM LKYSPP PROF KICKED OUT FOR ADVANCING FOREIGN AGENDA & INFLUENCING SG POLICIES

A senior academic from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP), Professor Huang Jing, has been identified as “an agent of influence of a foreign country,” announced the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Friday (Aug 4). “The information was duly conveyed by that senior member of the LKYSPP to very senior public officials who were in a position to direct Singapore’s foreign policy. The clear intention was to use the information to cause the Singapore Government to change its foreign policy".

PARCEL EXPLODED AT KOREA’S YONSEI UNIVERSITY, PROFESSOR INJURED

A professor was injured after a package exploded in his office at Yonsei university in Korea. The architecture professor found a package hanging on his door which suddenly exploded when he was opening it. He suffered burns on his neck, chest and hands and is being treated at the hospital. Nobody else was injured from the incident. The explosive was reportedly clumsily made as it only exploded from one side of the package. Korean news reports said the police are investigating and do not rule out the possibility of a terror attack.

NTU PROF SUFFERS MENTAL BREAKDOWN, TURNS TO SHOPLIFTING

A professor at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) pleaded guilty to shoplifting yesterday after he was caught stealing repeatedly from service stations he frequents. The professor, 55 year old Er Meng Joo, shoplifted items worth $453.35 between Jan 9 and 29, last year. He is a professor in electrical and electronic engineering, and had won multiple awards at the university. The professor stole items such as air fresheners and toiletries from two NTUC FairPrice outlets at Esso service stations at Bukit Timah and Dunearn roads. Just what drove a top award winning professor, who probably earns more than enough to actually pay for his stolen items, to go around and shoplift? Too stressed until he suffers from a mental breakdown?

RUSSIAN SMU STUDENT JAILED 2 MONTHS FOR HACKING PROF’S ACCOUNT TO DELETE EXAM SCRIPTS

A 32 year old Russian Singapore Management University Juris Doctorate student unlawfully deleted his and 18 other student's exam scripts when he realised he would fare badly in the exams. Georgy Kotsaga believed that by deleting the scripts, he would get to retake the examinations. Fortunately, SMU's IT systems made real time back ups for all examination scripts and everything was recovered. Worried that his GPA would fall below 3.0, Kotsaga bought a USB keylogger from Sim Lim Square and planted it on desktop computers in the professors' respective classrooms.
