PPL AGAINST PINKDOT ARE NOT OLD-FASHIONED, LGBTS ARE THE INTOLERANT ONES!

Our reader defended those who got offended by Pink Dot's advertisement at Cathay Cineleisure. He/she said that people who are against Pink Dot are not old-fashioned or easily offended. Instead, it is the LGBTs who do not tolerate their views and portray them as such. The reader said homosexuality itself is even more old fashioned as it dates back to ancient Greek and Rome. He/she accepts LGBT colleagues and friends but is against those who try to make homosexuality a mainstream culture. What do you think?

EXTRA 1 WEEK PATERNITY LEAVE MAY BECOME MANDATORY IN A FEW YEARS

According to Minister in the Prime Minister's Office Grace Fu, while the newly announced extra week of paternity leave will be implemented on a voluntary basis for now, the scheme may become mandatory in a few years. She says that the government would consult with employers and unions before legislating the move.

SOME EMPLOYERS CONCERNED ABOUT GOVT PRO-FAMILY POLICIES

In Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong's National Day Rally speech, he said that fathers will get two weeks of paternity leave, up from one week. The government would pay the employee's salary for this additional week, although the scheme will be rolled out first on a voluntary basis. While many parents, fathers especially, cheered the government's announcement, some employers have already begun to express concerns about such pro-family policies.
