Lawyer and death penalty critic Eugene Thuraisingam has apologised in court yesterday for making statements that were in contempt of court. He previously implied that ministers turn a blind eye to death penalty laws in Singapore because they are only after financial gains. His Facebook post was a response to Ridzuan's death sentence as the man was found guilty of trafficking heroin. The lawyer acknowledged his mistake and insisted nobody forced him to apologise.

THREE BRAVE LAWYERS STEP FORWARD TO DEFEND AMOS YEE PRO BONO
The 16-year-old Amos Yee was back in court today (21 Apr) for a bail review. He had been in remand since last Friday (17 Apr), after no bail was posted for him following a pre-trial conference that day. Three lawyers, Alfred Dodwell, Chong Jia Hao and Ervin Tan, have stepped forward to tell the court that they would be acting for Amos on pro-bono. Mr Dodwell said a bailor was on the way to help bail Amos out.
