I think we, as a community, must retain some semblance of our pride, honour and integrity, to call a spade a spade, and not to rewrite history, dismissing ‘’complaints of discrimination’’ as just perceptions, just to make our top leaders and the PAPpie Malays feel good.

People's Action Party member of parliament and Speaker Halimah Yacob has given her clearest indication yet that she intends to contest the upcoming presidential election in September.

Dr Tan Cheng Bock stands by his decision to appeal against the dismissal of his constitutional challenge: "my lawyers have advised that the Judge may have misconstrued the relevant Constitutional provisions. I have therefore filed an appeal to the Court of Appeal (CA No. 124 of 2017) to review the Court decision". The appeal will likely be heard on the week of 25 July 2017.

Dr Tan Cheng Bock has decided to appeal against the High Court for dismissing his application to contest the legitimacy of the upcoming Presidential Election. Despite having intentions to run for Presidency, he was not considered eligible due to amendments to the Constitution and the introduction of the reserved presidency. In Dr Tan's application, he called for an open election and disagreed with the government's decision for counting Mr Wee Kim Wee as the first popularly elected President.

This case is not about race. It is about process and procedures. It is about upholding the Constitution. Let’s keep it that way.

The High Court dismissed Dr Tan Cheng Bock's constitutional challenge to the upcoming reserved Presidential Election. This comes after the AGC accused Dr Tan of being selfish for undermining multiracial representation and for wanting to run in the next election. Dr Tan has until next Wednesday to file a notice of appeal and has not reached a conclusion. Does this come as a surprise? Have we lost yet another hopeful candidate who can actually be our voice?

With the first ever reserved presidential election coming up later this year, former presidential candidate Tan Cheng Bock and the Attorney General's Chambers (AGC) have been locked into a legal battle in court over the constitutionality of the recent changes to the Elected Presidency.

I have read lots of articles requesting Mr LHY to join the Opposition. Although it is not entirely impossible, he will most likely not join the opposition because he is the son of Lee Kuan Yew, the man with many enemies in the opposition.

Khan Osman Sulaiman talks about the upcoming Presidential Election and highlighted some of its problems. He thinks it is condescending to reserve the election for Malays as it shows that they cannot stand on their own merits. "It places the Malay community as a pawn in a chess game. To be used only when needed". He said the reserved presidency with its strict conditions is only for the elitist and described the President position as a lame duck.
