LIFTS AT "PREMIUM" PUNGGOL BTO MALFUNCTIONS FOR 6 MTHS, PAP MP FAILS TO SOLVE SAFETY ISSUE

I am writing to you hoping that you can help to make known to all the frustrations and agony that the residents of my housing estate have been going through ever since we have moved in. I am hoping you can be the “voice of the people”. The lifts will often get stuck at various levels and stop working. And more often than not, they will stop at a level and the doors cannot close fully – residents have to push both sides of the door to get it closed so that it continues moving. Being a new estate, we have no Residents’ Committee (RC) formed. We can only call the Town Council, email our MP (Ms Sun Xueling) for help. However, nothing done has solved the root of the problem, which is the quality of the lifts we are getting for this supposed premium estate of ours

I PAID GREAT EASTERN INSURANCE PREMIUMS BUT NOW CANNOT DO HOSPITAL CLAIMS

This is the first time my kid was admitted to hospital ever since i bought insurance for them. I had purchased insurance (hospital (CPF) + no cash coverage) policy for my kids from Great Eastern Insurance company on 30 Oct 15, my son was admitted to Thomson Medical Centre (since baby have been visiting TMC) and they asked me to pay a deposit of $1,050 claiming that there are not able to see any policy from the system hence there is no so called letter of guarantee.

ARE MEDISHIELD PREMIUMS AFFORDABLE FOR THE AVERAGE S'POREAN?

It states that “About two-thirds of the population will be given permanent subsidies that range from 15 to 50 per cent of the new premiums. Anyone with a household per capita income of $2,600 or less – such as families of four with a total income of $10,400 or less – living in property with annual values of $21,000 or less, will enjoy these permanent subsidies. People living in properties with annual values of more than $21,000 do not get permanent subsidies, even if their household per capita income is very low.

ALMOST 20% MORE COE AVAILABLE FROM FEB TO APRIL 2015

Based on a Land Transport Authority announcement Wednesday morning (14 Jan 2015), there will be 4,705 COEs up for bidding every month from Feb - April. This is a 18.3% jump in supply from previous months. This increase in COE supply is expected to persist for the next 2 to 3 years and LTA expects COE premiums to fall in the coming months.

HEALTH MINISTER GAN KIM YONG: I CANNOT ASSURE S'POREANS THAT MEDISHIELD PREMIUMS WON'T INCREASE AFTER 5 YRS

MediShield Life premiums will remain the same for the first five years, said Minister for Health Gan Kim Yong. The assurance on the new universal health insurance scheme was given by Mr Gan on Saturday, a day after the MediShield Life Review Committee unveiled its recommendations. He also said the standardised Integrated Shield Plan for Class B1 wards will likely start along with MediShield Life at the end of 2015.

MediShield Life Review: Better coverage for all, enhanced benefits, lower co-payments

The MediShield Life Review Committee has come up with recommendations for the compulsory insurance plan that aim to ease people's worries about racking up large hospital bills. In considering changes to MediShield Life, the Committee had "carefully considered the balance between the impact of the benefit enhancements and the resulting indicative premium levels", it said in a release on Thursday.
