PRC tourists have been known to cause trouble while on holiday, and this latest incident serves only to remind host countries about the kind of havoc some PRC tourists can cause. According to the South China Morning Post, 6 PRC tourists reportedly tried to storm a plane and beat up 7 ground crew members after their flight bound for Beijing was delayed for more than 6 hours.

As the world all over spews out horror stories of misbehaving PRC tourists, Singapore's Ministry of Trade and Industry is doing the exact opposite - it has asked Singaporeans and companies to do more to attract more PRC tourists. Speaking at a fund raising event organized by the Singapore Cruise Center, Mr Lee Yi Shyan, Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry and National Development, said that Singaporeans need to customize their offerings to cater to tourists from China.

I am not interested in hateful or racist explanations. To me this is obviously a social and cultural issue, and not about Chinese or Asian people as a race. I have noticed several news articles popping up recently about poor behaviour of Chinese tourists, such as this one about tourists at a Thai temple, and videos like this one about queuing.

Two people were killed and three injured after a horrific accident of Final Destination proportions occurred at an amusement park in Pingyang county, Zhejiang province, according to a Weibo Post released by the press office of the local government. Five tourists from Aojiang Town and Shanmen Town in Wenzhou fell victim to the incident when at least three of them were thrown off a machine called the "Crazy Scream", located at the Longshan Amusement Park in Wenzhou, at around 12:05PM today.

According to Thai media, Lion Air staff in Thailand confirmed that a Thai woman who tried to stop 2 PRC women from jumping the queue had been beaten up and injured by the 2 offenders. In the video, security guards had already separated the 3 women. However, the 2 PRC women were still aggressive and were shown chasing and throwing hits at the Thai woman. Security had to take them to the police station and transfer them to the next available flight. Lion Air also mentioned that the Thai woman was queuing for a flight scheduled at 10:00, while the 2 PRC women were scheduled for the 11:00 boarding.
