FOREIGNERS MAY BOOST MANPOWER & GDP, BUT POPULATION MAY BLOAT TO 18M

The man who is called the "architect of modern Singapore" tells CNBC that "Singapore must start planning for a population that could possibly hit 10 million". But did you know that if rates of population increase continued unabated like those before GE 2011, the population in Singapore would hit 18 million by 2050, with the percentage of foreigners going up to 62%?

MADNESS FOR S'PORE TO REVISIT 6.9 MILLION POPULATION WHITE PAPER WHEN EVERYWHERE IS CROWDED

In an article published by the lapdog sheet, the Straits Times, today, PAP lapdog Calvin Cheng who thinks being a "former NMP" (a tag which he likes to brandish around as if it is a big deal) entitles him to respect, called on the PAP to implement the Population White Paper. He argued that the PAP has solved many of the problems that caused it to suffer an electoral setback in 2011 and has regained the people's trust. For instance, he cites the public transport front as having seen progress with measures put in place to correct its "deficiencies".

PINOYS GETTING INVOLVED IN LOCAL POLITICS BY JOINING PAP AS SOON AS THEY GET THEIR CITIZENSHIP

I am very shocked that many Pinoys who have become new citizens are getting involved in our local politics. Look at this example, he got his citizenship in 2007 and immediately joined the PAP and proudly voted for them to screw Singaporeans over by allowing them to continue flooding our country with even more pinoys! How can this even be allowed? Shouldn't there be some minimum requirements e.g. serving NS to prove their loyalty to Singapore before they can have a say in our local politics?

Can Singapore cultivate resilience in face of change?

The churning undercurrent of grievances over the Population White Paper, the toxic haze from Indonesia, the graft trials of public figures and senior civil servants, the series of hacking incidents and the Little India riot were events that captured the national consciousness through the year. Singaporeans could no longer boast about being above the fray. Today, a sense of doubt, pessimism, insecurity and, to some extent, despair, is palpable. The angst over the failure of our well-oiled state machinery has led some to describe the successive events over recent years as a failure of governance.
