Ms Vanessa Ho, director of sex workers' rights group Project X, believes increased police raids on unlicensed brothels in Geylang could have resulted in businesses moving to public housing. The court was told that at about 8.50pm that day, the victim was cycling home after buying some groceries when he noticed Hashim standing near the rubbish chute area at the HDB block. Just as the victim wheeled his bicycle into the lift, Hashim followed him in and proceeded to strike up a conversation with the victim. As the lift was ascending, Hashim stretched out his hand and molested the victim. The victim reacted by immediately covering his groin area with his hand and Hashim retracted his hand.

A man was arrested for suspected drink driving after crashing his car into a tree along Braddell Road on Sep 27 at around 11.25pm. In a video of what happened that was widely circulated online, the car can first be seen travelling on the first lane of the three-lane road. The driver then mounted the kerb and crashed into a tree at a relatively high speed. The car's bonnet was severely damaged and debris was strewn across the road. The accident actually also involved another car as well as a taxi.

The bus driver who shouted at a police officer Sep 27 at Jurong, has resigned and is currently under police investigation. It was reported that during the exchange, the driver used obscene language and made hand gestures as the officer was patiently trying to calm him down. Police investigations are ongoing, with the driver initially investigated for a dispute with an LTA officer over how he had stopped his bus on a double yellow line.

A blue tent normally used by police to cover bodies was placed along a cycling and jogging track across the canal from Sengkang Riverside Park, near Sengkang Sports Centre. A police cordon stretching about 300m had also been set up. Residents and joggers were turned away from the cordon and have to make big detour into the residential areas which are a few hundred metres away.
