JAL PILOTS WHO TRIED TO TAKE OFF FROM TAXIWAY AT CHANGI AIRPORT SUSPENDED

Pilots of JAL flight 38 mistakenly tried to take off from a taxiway at Singapore's Changi Airport on 12th July, but were stopped just in time before a crash occurred. The pilots had apparently thought that they were on a runway. The aircraft bound for Tokyo’s Haneda airport accelerated at takeoff speed for a few seconds in the early hours of the day, but stopped soon after receiving distressed calls to stop from Air Control.

LIGHTNING LEAVES A HOLE IN PLANE, WHICH MANAGED TO LAND SAFELY

Passengers of an Icelandair flight to Denver on Tuesday were left in a bit of shock after their plane was struck by lightning shortly after takeoff. Though the Boeing 757 continued its 3,700-mile journey from Reykjavik, Iceland, to Denver, it wasn't until the plane landed that passengers and crew were aware of a gaping hole in the nose of the plane.

TRANSASIA FLIGHT CRASHES IN TAIWAN, AT LEAST 45 DEAD

At least 45 people were killed in a plane crash in Taiwan on Wednesday, officials said, with local television reporting the flight had smashed into two houses after an aborted landing. Authorities said Taiwanese airline TransAsia Airways flight GE222, with 58 on board, crashed near Magong airport on the outlying Penghu island after having requested a second attempt to land. Television images showed firefighters working at site of the mangled wreckage and soldiers on the scene.

MALAYSIAN PLANE CARRYING 295 PASSENGERS CRASHES IN UKRAINE

Interfax news agency are claiming that a Malaysian passenger plane has crashed in Ukraine, near the Russian border. "A Boeing Malaysian Airlines that was fyling from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur began to descend about 50km before entering Russian airspace, and was subsequently found burning on the ground in Ukraine," an aviation source told Interfax.
