Singaporeans today have lost a great man and a wise leader. Mr Othman Wok is one of the few Muslim leaders today with the guts to do what is right for the country. Look at our Malay MPs today, some keep talking about divisive issues and trying to divide Singaporeans, others keep quiet and do nothing when our multiracial society is at stake.

FOUNDING PAP MEMBER OTHMAN WOK DIES AGE 92

Tuan Haji Othman Bin Wok, one of Singapore's founding People's Action Party members, has died at Singapore General Hospital on Monday at the age of 92. Encik Haji Othman was one of the signatories to the Separation Agreement between the Malaysian government, led by Tunku Abdul Rahman, and the Singapore government, led by Lee Kuan Yew.

Singaporeans cannot just recognise and celebrate Singapore’s past 50 years only. To do so will be to disrespect pioneers’ pioneers like Tan Kim Seng, Tan Kah Kee, Tan Tock Seng, Lim Bo Seng, Lt Adnan and so on, whom all died before 1965 and thus contributed nothing in the past 50 years.

PAP CIVIL SERVANT: S'PORE MUST AIM FOR 10M POPULATION

Singapore must start planning for a population that could possibly hit 10 million, Liu Thai Ker, the man often credited as the architect of modern Singapore, told CNBC. The bold number suggested by Liu, who served as the chief executive of the Housing Board from 1979-1989 and then as CEO and chief planner of the Urban Development Authority from 1989-1992, is nearly double the current 5.3 million population and significantly higher than the 6.9 million figure proposed by the Singapore government in its 2013 Population White Paper.
