I am a concerned citizen who read news that some Indian pilots used fake flying licenses to fly for Indian Airlines. According to news reports, 14 pilots were barred from flying recently and the Indian government is set to arrest even more pilots with fake qualifications. I hope you do not blame me for speaking the truth, but many loyal supporters of your airline like myself are worried. We fear for our safety now, especially in the wake of all these fake degree and fake license scams.

I want to share about a member of our Malay community whom I believe is a good example and many youngsters in our community look up to him as their idol and role model. He paved the way for us to dream big and give us hope that nothing is impossible. He is MAJOR Yusri Abu Bakar the first Malay F-16 fighter pilot in the RSAF. Considering that only ONE in a thousand can make the cut to become a fighter pilot, he managed to overcome the odds stacked against him and show his ability to fly the war machine.

Flight MH370: Pilot in wrong state of mind to fly - friend

The captain of Flight 370 was in no state of mind to fly the day it disappeared and could have taken the Boeing 777 for a "last joyride" before crashing into the Indian Ocean, a fellow pilot says. Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah's world was crumbling, said the long-time associate. He had been facing serious family problems, including separation from his wife and relationship problems with another woman he was seeing. The man, who spoke to the Herald on condition of anonymity, said Captain Zaharie was "terribly upset" when his wife told him she was leaving and believed he may have decided to take the Malaysia Airlines plane to a part of the world he had never flown in.

Pilot becomes 31st man jailed for sex with minor

A commercial pilot yesterday became the 31st man to be jailed in connection with an online vice ring case involving a 17-year-old girl. Joseph Ong Chee Wah, 33, was jailed 12 weeks for having paid sex with the underage escort. Ong — who is married with one young child and whose wife is pregnant — is one of 51 men who were charged in 2012 over the case involving the underage girl.
