Refrain from engaging in partisan politics, especially during the election season in Singapore. Filipinos should avoid any involvement in partisan political debates and activities in Singapore as this is a violation of Singapore laws. Filipinos, including Permanent Residents, are not allowed to participate in political campaigns and do not have the right to vote in Singapore elections. Under Singapore laws, errant foreigners may be charged under the Societies Act, the Public Entertainment and Meetings Act, the Immigration Act, and/or the Penal Code if they engage in partisan political activiti in the city-state.

Truth is, I probably don’t give a fuck about whether I’m seen as a xenophobe for thinking this should not have been allowed to happen and that the event is in my opinion considerably different from the Singapore Day events held overseas (helmed by the STB to promote tourism primarily); and neither does it bother me whether or not the Pinoy/Pinay community finally get to hold their flag-waving event right smack in the middle of Orchard Road, or at the Istana grounds,because ultimately at the end of the day, it all does nothing to benefit me either way, and it is a complete waste of my time to take to either side on the issue

it is definitely alright to celebrate one's national day in a foreign country in a dignified and relative quiet manner. I had attended many National Day functions while stationed in Beijing and Shanghai with no issue from the locals. They were all held in a hotel setting and in enclosed space;

A measles outbreak in the Philippines has infected 23 Singaporeans who had travelled there since January, said an alert from the Ministry of Health (MOH). They are among 80 people here have come down with measles so far this year. This is high, given that the annual numbers were 46 and 38 respectively for the past two years. When she received the summon for mediation, she kept calling our agent asking why I went to the police, etc. etc. I thought at that time, she might have been moved somehow; I was wrong.
