PEOPLE’S PARK COMPLEX RESIDENTS QUEUE AN HOUR JUST TO TAKE LIFT HOME

People's Park Complex has been plagued by serious lift breakdowns for the longest time. Some residents complained that they have to queue for an hour just to take the lifts to go home. The problem is worse for the elderly who are not fit enough to climb the stairs. What are the authorities going to do about this? The building is supposed to have 3 lifts, but one is under repair since Dec last year while the other 2 continue to breakdown frequently. The lifts break down at least 3 times a month and sometimes they all just breakdown together. There are apparently maintenance works there but is it really enough? Nowadays lift can work is privilege already siol!

FLOOR LOOKS WARPED AT PEOPLES PARK COMPLEX, IS IT DANGEROUS?

Came across this photo while I was surfing online. This is what i think is People's Park Complex in Chinatown. Look at the picture closely. Do you think the floor marked in red is a bit warped? Wonder if this means danger or not? How to report this? Better check the building,since this is quite an old building? Or is it just because of the camera angle, that makes it look bad, when in fact, this is just normal?

PEOPLE’S PARK COMPLEX: ANOTHER HOTBED FOR BUSINESS SCAMS?

The management of People's Park Complex said that for the past two years, it has taken measures to minimise the errant sales tactics seen in other shopping centres. While the problem remains, it has been "gradually reduced lately", the Management Corporation said. The management said it has been working closely with the relevant authorities, including CASE, police and Singapore Tourism Board to reduce the incidents of such practices. "(While) People's Park Complex may not have eradicated the problem completely, at least it has been noted that the malpractice of sales tactics by these operators here has been gradually reduced lately," it said in its statement.

PEEPING TOMS SPOTTED IN CHINATOWN

Lecherous men have been spotted in Chinatown's People's Park Complex, seeking "strategic" spots near a staircase to peep under women's skirts. Shop attendants in the neighbourhood said that four to five men have, in recent months, become Peeping Tom "regulars" at the mall, Lianhe Wanbao reported yesterday. Some men would loiter in the area all day.
