Marine Parade Town Council Resident Plagued By Leakage Problems Since February 2020

Marine Parade Town Council Resident Plagued By Leakage Problems Since February 2020

We have been sending feedback and photos to HDB since Feb 2020 regarding the leakage problem inside our house at 126 Geylang East. We are really troubled and feel totally helpless whenever we look at the situations get worse. The Geylang East resident is in the Marine Parade Town Council which was previously held by the PAP. It is currently contested by the PAP team Tan Chuan-Jin, Seah Kian Peng, Edwin Tong, Mohd Fahmi Aliman and Tan See Leng. Perhaps the worries of this resident can be solved by having involved and concerned Members of Parliament in charge of her town council.

GE2020: East Coast-Fengshan Town Council Fails To Explain Why Workers Were Carrying Election Materials

On 3 July, a sharp-eyed netizen spotted foreign workers wearing East Coast-Fengshan Town Council uniforms carrying and transporting a trolley full of PAP election material. The East Coast-Fengshan Town Council eventually caught wind of this incident and conducted an investigation. Within a day, the Town Council eventually identified these workers as employers of its estate cleaning contractor. A Town Council spokesperson told the 158 state media the workers "were not fulfilling any duties related to the town council at that time." The spokesperson also claimed the estate cleaning contractor was reminded to observe the Town Council's guidelines, and that its workers should not be wearing Town Council uniforms to do "non-town council-related work."

GE2020: Mediacorp Sabo Opposition Parties With Last Minute Invitations

The 158th media received complains from political candidates about last minute invitations to participate in political debates. Specifically, Singapore Democratic Party (SDP) candidate Bryan Lim Boon Heng criticised Mediacorp for sending an "eleventh hour" invitation. The Workers' Party (WP) may have also been given the same short lead time to make preparations for this Chinese debate. But instead of playing along to Mediacorp's games, WP decided not to attend this Chinese debate altogether. Perhaps WP was right to do a no-show as the Chinese debate turned out to be a farce. Fortunately for the opposition parties, their eloquence outshone the PAP during the English debate.

GE2020: Inexperienced New Faces Sent To Challenge PSP In Two SMCs

These scholars have little to no real world experience as their sheltered careers were mainly in government-linked organisations. Together with the fact that they were thrown to the deep end by contesting solo, it seems that the PAP is either overconfident of winning these SMCs or that Yip Hon Weng and Gan Siow Huang are disposable. Given how the PAP has placed the two scholars low on their priority list of newcomers, the residents in Yio Chu Kang and Marymount can be reassured that these two are useless to the progress of Singapore and should be voted out.
