Our reader informed us about the post and said it is unfair for him to be able to claim for something that is "not there". DID PRC MAN DASH IN FRONT OF MY CAR WITH INTENTION TO SCAM PAYOUT?

This happened today 12/10/2016 at 1332hrs. I was driving my newly purchased 1 week old car along Sin Ming Drive near LTA when this unknown China pedestrian suddenly ran across the road from my left, without looking for oncoming traffic. I refer to the article ”CPF payouts ‘fall short for higher-income earners’” (Sunday Times, Dec 6). It states that ”Men at the 30th income percentile, however, could achieve a gross replacement rate of 71.3 per cent by annuitising the full amounts in their CPF accounts, Ms Miksa noted. As only an estimated 1 in 6 Singaporeans at age 55 were able to meet the full CPF Minimum Sum (currently $161,000) without pledging property – the lower income may be even more financially stretched in retirement.

AIA REFUSED TO PAY $600,000 CANCER BILL DESPITE AGENT SAYING OKAY

This message serves more as an advisory than anything else. As most of my closer friends are probably aware, my dad is currently fighting a losing battle against stage four pancreatic cancer. The cancer has become life limiting and we are looking at anything from a couple of weeks to (hopefully) two months. The medical bill he had to foot came out to about S$85k and AIA refused to pay a single cent, even though their agent made a mistake by telling us that we would be able to claim fully. We have appealed repeatedly and this letter is the latest outcome.

VETERAN SBS DRIVER WHO LOST PENSION GETS “RETIREMENT” PAYOUT AFTER MEDIA PRESSURE FROM A.S.S.

Just 2 days after I submitted the story of my cousin (SBS Bus Driver Pang Akua for 30 years) being terminated just months before his retirement due to a small mistake - SBS Transit had took its turn around, and agreed to "commute" the termination service letter to as "Early Retirement" Letter. They would also pay my cousin "early retirement according to T&C of retirement" - whatever this means. My cousin is satisfy with the outcome (as long as NO termination).
