NOTHING CONTRADICTORY IN WP’S NCMP STANCE, IT IS TYPICAL PAP SMEARING

While the spirit of the NCMP scheme is to offer a seat in parliament to the best performing opposition candidate who lost, performance is relative. All else being equal, opposition performance should be better against a weaker PAP candidate like Charles Chong as compared to against stronger PAP candidates like Minister Lim Swee Say and Minister of State Lee Yi Shyan.

ARE S’POREANS TRULY SAFE UNDER PAP’S ONE PARTY RULE?

I applaud the WP's present willingness to actively engage the government on tough issues as well as comments by Fatimah Lateef to WP's Faisal on the lack of suggestions he has proposed in our lopsided parliament. I think Fatimah Lateef (as a 3 term MP) is still blurred on the line of the roles the government and Opposition MPs play and perhaps its better for voters to retire her at the next poll so she can concentrate on serving her patients at SGH in addition to fixing serious lapses in MOH.

WHY IS WP NOT ALLOWED TO FILL NCMP SEAT WITH THEIR CHOICE CANDIDATE?

Last Friday marked the new chapter of our nation's 51st anniversary with the opening of the 13th Parliamentary session. Notably absent was the presence of 1 more NCMP which the PAP dominated parliament has blatantly refused to fill, going by the non-binding opinion of the AGC which the High Court has earlier ruled does not represent any interpretation of our laws!
