The SDP first proposed the idea of having a retrenchment benefits scheme back in the 2011 GE and then in our RESTART programme in the last GE. PAP MPs are now beginning to say the same thing. In the past, whether it is employing Singaporeans first, putting in place a minimum wage scheme, or adopting a universal healthcare system the SDP has been pushing the government towards policies that benefit ordinary Singaporeans.

WHY/ WHO caused Singapore and Singaporeans lack of Enterprising Spirits ? How to overcome this ? LKY had straitjacketed too many of his people in his zeal and impatience to build up Singapore quickly. There was genius in them, but they could not move.

Today, right after the Minister for Health answered the two questions filed on the Hepatitis C cluster at SGH, Parliamentary Question time ended and there was no time for Supplementary Questions. I had asked for details of the penalties and warnings given: to whom they were awarded and for what action or inaction. The Minister declined to disclose this information and alluded to not wanting to create a culture of blame.

I am a Punggol East Resident and on Thursday evening on my way home from work I was pleasantly surprised yet honoured to realise my precinct cleanliness is maintained by 2 Town Councils as shown in the photographs attached taken by me.

I am saddened by news of the jailing of Ms Ai Takagi which relied solely on draconian laws that were long done away with by the colonial masters! I am also much appalled that the Judiciary is unable to differentiate between racism and xenophobia. Ms Takagi is a heroine who deserves our support for she embodies the quote of The Late David Marshall that: "the duty of an Opposition is to act with vigor in guiding & criticizing with integrity the conduct of the Govt, TO MAKE HEARD THE VOICES OF THE MINORITY WITHOUT FEAR".

We need a whole new direction for our country. Saddened to hear of the SMRT accident today but it was coming. For many of you, it may be shocking but it showed that the infrastrature cannot cope with the demands of the population. Everything, if not all our social problems stem from our low birth rate. In this case, i believe we expanded too quickly without laying the necessary groundwork for the population boom or growth needed.

I would like to give my view as a Paya Lebar resident, on the transferal of Murali K. to Bt Batok and the remnants he will leave behind in Aljunied GRC as he embarks on his newfound fame as a probable MP-elect there.

The People's Action Party (PAP) announced that lawyer K Muralidharan Pillai will be its candidate for the Bukit Batok by-election today. The 48-year-old Mr Murali was part of the PAP "suicide squad" challenging the Workers' Party (WP) team for Aljunied GRC in the recent General Elections held last year. The WP emerged victorious with 50.95% of the vote.

Since when are Singaporeans united? only PAP people united with own people nia. Look down on others that are not PAP supporters. There is no civil war but definitely a social divide. Remember SG had become a DOG EAT DOG society. No need to care for other people since they won;t do the same too. especially the 70%. I got friends who literally unfriend me on FB and broke all contact with me because i support opposition and they support PAP. Friends that i know for 10 over years...
