Given the almost complete dominance of the PAP in both parliament and at the voting booth, It's strange to see how fractured opposition parties are with there being at least 3 major parties that only form electoral alliances to prevent them from losing their deposit. What are the major differences between the WP, SDP, SPP, SingFirst etc? Why hasn't the PAP split into more parties in recent history?

Why PAP die die cannot let LKY's house be demolished? Is it because it is the birthplace of the PAP? The PAP was conceptualized by LKY and his friends in the basement of that house in 1954.

My point is this - I do not believe in blind obedience. This is not a wild allegation made by some fringe group, but by the Prime Minister's siblings, who are high-profile individuals. It is therefore not disloyal to ask questions and seek answers on the issue. If the Party leadership believes that by raising these questions, I am disloyal to the Party, it is always open to them to expel me. But I choose to believe that they are more progressive, intelligent and thoughtful than that. Making threats against me on the other hand, is not only disgraceful, but, given the circumstances, painfully ironic.

HDB flat buyers have been taken for a very long ride and most are afraid to face the fact that none of us is an owner. PAP politicians who keep trumpeting our second highest home ownership rate in the world are in fact lying. HDB has already confirmed ‘owners’ are merely ‘lessees’ on its website, in line with Singapore statutes. The fact that we can’t mortgage HDB flats which we are supposed to own should have convinced flat buyers that we are not owners. PAP politicians are able to use ‘owners’ loosely in the media to impress upon Singaporeans that we do own public housing. This is not some half truth but a lie. To date, not a single minister has categorically stated that HDB flat buyers are not lessees. HDB flat buyers have been had and it’s about time the delusional majority wake up to the lessee nightmare: we are not owners of HDB flats.

There's something I want to tell everyone. You're being gaslighted by the PAP. Getting a degree gets you a pay level that's supposed to be acceptable, but now it's no longer so. The truth is there're not enough jobs to go around for degree grads who are expecting degree level pay, even entry pay like 3k a month. So the government tells you to either upgrade or no need to study degree because it's unnecessary. So the degree is unnecessary, because the truth is there're not enough jobs to go around for you and if you do not have a degree, you wouldn't have expectations of a degree level pay. Basically, you've done all you need for basic achievement in life but you are being punished for being inefficient simply because your government is blaming the failure of the system on you, and not themselves.

Lim Tean, Tan Kin Lian, Syafarin Sarif and I had started the initiative to publish a Non-Partisan Joint Statement in support of Dr Tan Cheng Bock's challenge of the Constitutional change to enforce Reserved Elected Presidency based on dubious grounds. We have come together as a group of concerned Singaporeans, from diverse walks in life and from a wide political spectrum, to ask Singaporeans to stand up and to protect our Constitution from constant manipulation by the PAP government to suit their selfish political needs. We are pleased to note that Dr Tan Cheng Bock has mounted a judicial challenge to the constitutionality of the next Presidential Election being a reserved election. Even if it is now the law that there must be a reserved election for a particular racial group if no one from that group has been President after 5 continuous terms, it is clear to everyone of us that only the Presidential election of 2023 need be a reserved election. The next Presidential election in September this year should be an open election as there have been only 4 elected Presidents since the Elected Presidency scheme came into effect, with Mr Ong Teng Cheong being our first elected President. We do not know of any ordinary Singaporean who has taken an opposing view. Since the PAP Government insists that the upcoming Presidential election is a reserved election under the Presidential Elections (Amendment) Act 2017, the burden was on them to explain to the Singapore people the basis of their decision. It was incumbent upon them to produce the advice which they said they had obtained from the Attorney-General, which formed the basis of their decision. This is no different to a judge having to give his reasons for a decision made by him. It was important for the Government to have made known the reasoning behind the Attorney-General’s advice because the Attorney-General’s advice does not constitute the law of the land and is open to challenge by way of Judicial Review.

Responding to PAP MP Zaqy Mohamad's question if the recent slew of price increases (water, electricity, transport, carpark) would impact inflation and affect Singaporeans, Minister of State for Trade and Industry Dr Koh Poh Koon said that the price increases only contribute 0.2 pp to inflation and this impact is small. Dr Koh said that against a backdrop of increase in oil prices, the main driver of price increases this year was from the electricity and other energy-linked items such as petrol or diesel.

The crux of this issue is again the appointment of FM Solutions and Services (FMSS) as AHPETC's managing agent. The town council, now managed by the PAP, has said that they will study the troubling report, and will seek legal advice on how to proceed. We await the latest development in this saga, as it does seem that this will not go away any time soon. If there is any wrongdoing, then make a police report and let the proper authorities handle this. If there are no wrongdoing, then we should all just move on and stop bringing this matter up every few months, as if to remind everyone that opposition managed wards are not up to scratch. Surely this is not the case, right?
