Lee Wei Ling: One Has To Be Remarkably Dumb To Not Know What LKY Wants For His Oxley Road Home

Lee Wei Ling: One Has To Be Remarkably Dumb To Not Know What LKY Wants For His Oxley Road Home

In the Facebook post on Tuesday evening, Dr Lee repeated what she knew of her father's stance, that he wanted the property to be demolished as he did not want Singapore to have a cult of Lee Kuan Yew. Dr Lee also reiterated the reason why the house should be demolished - LKY did not want it open to public or turned into a shrine, and their mother, Mdm Kwa Geok Choo was a private person and did not want the public trampling through her home.

LEGAL ACTION AGAINST WP JUST A DISTRACTION FROM OXLEY SAGA & RESERVED PRESIDENCY!

Gilbert Goh thinks the legal action against Workers' Party is just a distraction from the problems plaguing Oxley saga and the upcoming Presidential election. He compared this to Ang Mo Kio Town Council's alleged corruption which was mysteriously solved by dismissing a general manager and settled out of public scrutiny.

LEE WEI LING: AGC NOW POLICING PRIVATE FB POSTS?

I am surprised that AGC takes such negative reaction to a private post. Is there a government servant whose duty is to follow the Facebook activity of all people related to Hsien Yang and I, including our private musings. Also, what Shengwu posted is a common topic amongst Singaporeans who are well informed. Is this not an example of " big Brother government". Perhaps it is a case of "if the hat fits, take it."

OXLEY ROAD CHARITABLE DONATION ENOUGH FOR 6 YEARS TAXES?

Did the seller take a charitable donation tax deduction? If so, the estimated tax credit is about $13.2 million (2.5 times tax deduction assuming the highest marginal tax rate of 22 per cent). The seller’s annual salary is reported to be $2.2 million – which would compute to an estimated annual income tax of about $450,000.

So, does it mean that the estimated charitable tax credit of about $13.2 million may be enough to pay for about six years (maximum carry forward of five years) of the seller’ income tax?

SUNGEI ROAD SAYS ITS GOODBYES, OXLEY ROAD WOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO

Singapore keeps demolishing its history in its inane desire to modernise. Every historical building have shelf life. There is no historical building safe from the bulldozers, unless of course, the historical building is located at Oxley Road. Then the government will do all it can to preserve, including defying the wish of its founding father

EX-MP IRENE NG: DEMOLISH OXLEY RD HOUSE SO WE CAN ALL MOVE ON!

Former MP Irene Ng has come up with a brilliant idea to resolve the FamiLEE dispute by asking for 38 Oxley Rd to be demolished NOW. "I believe that as long as the core issue remains – what to do with the house – and as long as the house stands, the saga will not end. It will be a running sore. The Lee family will continue to suffer, and we will not be spared... To end the saga now by demolishing the house, all parties involved have to pay a price... Demolish the house, end the saga now, and let's all move on."

EX-PAP MP INDERJIT SINGH URGE LEE SIBLINGS TO ALL LOSE SOME FOR S'PORE TO WIN

I would like to offer a solution. The only way forward for all of us – the Lee family, the government and for Singaporeans - is for each of us to give up something for Singapore to win. We all lose some but we win the bigger picture: Singapore’s image. It is of utmost importance for the fate of 38 Oxley to be decided now and not left to the future or future governments. We don’t want future generations of government and family members to be embroiled in more legal battles. Uncertainty about 38 Oxley’s future may see Singapore being dragged into many more years of arguments and unpleasant accusations.

PM LEE WAS WRONG, LHY DID NOT WANT TO PURCHASE HOUSE FOR $1

In her Facebook post, Dr Lee wrote that when PM Lee offered to sell the house to her for $1, she was the one who had immediately asked Lee Hsien Yang to be a part of the deal.

This, she clarified, was because she "have neither the time, nor the inclination to deal with the house on my own. Hsien Yang did not ask to join me in purchasing the house for $1". Her statement contradicts those made by PM Lee in Parliament, when he had said Lee Hsien Yang wanted to be part of the deal immediately once it was made know the house would be sold at $1.

Dr Lee also reiterated the fact that Lee Hsien Yang and herself wanted the house demolished as soon as she no longer needs it just as in LKY's will, and to convert it to a public garden. Both siblings said they were not planning to profit in any way from the deal offered by PM Lee.

LEONG SZE HIAN: IF OXLEY RD ACCUSATIONS ARE BASELESS, WHY SO MANY MINISTERS DEFENDING PM LEE?

If indeed, and since all the allegations are “baseless” with “no evidence” – why did so many members of Government take to social media and the mainstream media, to make their own counter “baseless” allegations with “no evidence”? Is it not below the dignity of the Government to resort to such tactics and actions?

Why did we consume so much of everything in the last two weeks or so, to damage Singapore’s reputation internationally, given that the allegations are “baseless” and with “no evidence”? Whilst allegations of conflicts of interest may be subjective – arguably, the actions of those alleged may be crystal clear!

ESM GOH: SIBLINGS JEALOUSY THE CRUX OF THE ISSUE, SG REPUTATION BE DAMNED

In case anyone says ESM Goh did not say that, his exact words about how Lee Hsien Yang and his wife are free telling others were "it is clear that their goal is to bring Lee Hsien Loong down as PM, regardless of the huge collateral damage suffered by the Government and Singaporeans. It is now no more a cynical parlour game. If the Lee siblings choose to squander the good name and legacy of ee Kuan Yew, and tear their relationship apart, it is tragic but a family affair. But if in the process of their self destruction, they destroy Singapore too, that is a public affair.

So basically, according to ESM Goh, this is just a petty siblings quarrel and jealousy where the younger ones just want the older brother to step down as PM, and don't care at all about Singapore's reputation in the eyes of the world.
