The ever present choice for all S’poreans as we navigate choppy waters ahead boils down to these 2: “ a false sense of peace and prosperity while surrendering all autonomy i.e. blind adherence to the PAP or rising up and building a healthy, alternative Parliament not dominated by only 2 parties

Rereading the PM's letter to PAP MPs on Rules of Prudence for salutary effect. It is recommended reading for all would-be politicians and volunteers of all political colours. Amidst the crisp prose, I discovered a gem of glancing praise for opposition MPs. This is as good as it gets!

Blogger Roy Ngerng Yi Ling had already submitted his papers to join the Reform Party "in the middle of this year" - according to some insiders, he is widely expected to represent the party in this upcoming General Elections.

Some readers of my website have emailed me to ask what I think about the coming General Election ( strongly speculated to be on September 12). Presumably, they are most interested in my prediction of the outcome. Will the PAP do better, or worse, than in 2011? Is it possible that with the ‘feel good’ factor reaching its peak after the Silver Jubilee celebration in August, plus all the goodies that the government has been handing out so generously, the PAP will win a landslide victory? How will the opposition, with new parties coming on the scene, fare? Will they spring surprises? Will they win more seats in Parliament?etc etc.

Writing to The Real Singapore in his capacity as SDP Assistant Secretary General, Christopher Ang made claims that my departure from the party was due to poor conduct on social media. Those claims are deceitful and a poor attempt to deflect. Briefly, this is why:

You should not have come out in the public with all these criticisms of your former party. You had spent three years with SDP and based on what you wrote, I guess you did put in significant efforts for the party. Whether those were productive or unproductive efforts, I trust you had put in your best and meant well for SDP. But now, with your public criticisms against the party and its leaders, you “undid” whatever good efforts you had contributed to the party. You are not only damaging the party, you are also hurting yourself badly!
