SOUTH KOREAN NSF WENT ON SHOOTING RAMPAGE NEAR DMZ, 5 KILLED 5 WOUNDED

Five soldiers were killed and five others wounded after a South Korean soldier went on a shooting spree at a general outpost in the country's border town with North Korea on Saturday, military officers said. According to the military, an unidentified South Korean sergeant serving his duty with an Army unit in this eastern town of Goseong, Gangwon Province, went on a shooting rampage at about 8:15 p.m., which led to the casualties.

Singapore fast-food eatery sizzles in North Korea

Behind the headlines that reclusive North Korea recently opened its first fast-food restaurant are three Singaporean businessmen. Two of them, Mr Quek Chek Lan, 65, and Mr Timothy Tan, 52, got the nod to set up the restaurant, called Samtaesong or ‘three big stars’, in the North Korean capital of Pyongyang. It serves Western fare such as hamburgers, french fries and waffles, and was officially opened in May.

North Korea: Kim Jong-un set to execute 200 high-ranking officials

"The Ministry of State Security has conducted an operation aimed at identifying Jang Sung-taek’s supporters after his execution last December and has identified 200 main supporters and 1,000 followers," the newspaper writes. It notes that about 1,000 members of their families will be sent to concentration camps without trial on charges of complicity. "Among those who will be sentenced to death there are 200 officials from the Labor Party, government and army, which received orders directly from Jang Sung-taek. Executions will be held at the shooting-ground of the Kang Kon Military Academy before the eyes of senior officials of the party, government and army," writes the newspaper. On the Tree-Planting Day two years ago, Marshal Kim Jong Un gave instructions to turn the mountains and fields of the country into a fairyland of socialism with thick woodlands and greenery while planting together with service personnel with great care the trees he personally brought. Workers and members of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea, agricultural workers and members of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea, officials and members of the Democratic Women's Union of Korea and school youth and children met on Maran Hill and at the Mangyongdae Revolutionary Site, the arboretum of the Central Botanical Garden and the April 15 Children's Flower Garden on Sunday.

Victims abducted by North Korea throughout the world

On the 20th August 1978, five women were kidnapped in Singapore. Two men claiming to be Japanese asked an escort agency to send five young women to join in on a party on their boat. These young hostesses aged from 19 to 24 years old disappeared, along with the boat, without a trace. There were four Malaysians: Yeng Yoke Fun (22) Me Yap Leng (22), Seetoh Tai Thim (19), Margaret Ong Guat Choo (19), and a Singaporean, Diana Ng Kum Yim, (24).

KIM JONG UN’S BROTHER IS STAYING IN SINGAPORE?

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's elder half-brother, who disappeared from the radar since the execution of former eminence grise Jang Song-taek, has been spotted in Malaysia. The Yomiuri Shimbun on Tuesday quoted sources as saying Kim Jong-nam left his home in Singapore earlier this month and was spotted in a Korean restaurant in Kuala Lumpur. Until December of 2011, when his father, former leader Kim Jong-il was alive, Kim Jong-nam shuttled back and forth between Beijing and Macau, where his first and second wives lived. He also travelled to Thailand, Austria and Russia and stopped in Pyongyang once in a while.

North Korea Lands First Ever Man On The Sun, Confirms Central News Agency

THE STATE News Agency of North Korea has confirmed today that the country has become the first in the world to ever land a man on the sun It reported that astronaut Hung Il Gong left for the sun on a specially designed rocket ship at approximately 3am this morning. While on the sun, Mr. Hung collected sun spot samples to bring back to his supreme leader as a present. The 18 hour mission is already being called the ‘greatest human achievement of our time’ by the North Korean central news agency.
