TIME TO MAKE NATURE RESERVE A GRC TO TRAIN NEW JIAKLIAOBI POLITICIANS

I would like to propose making the nature reserve into a GRC for the purpose of making Singapore more democratic. I have 10 reasons. 1. Singapore’s population is growing so we need to encourage more people to become MPs by showing them how good life as an MP is. 2. This should be used as a training ground for new politicians as well. Learn to eat snake, play with duckweed and sing song with parrots.

NATURE PHOTOGRAPHERS USING UNETHICAL BAITING PRACTICE THAT HARM ANIMALS

There have recently been several news stories about nature photographers behaving badly, including the incident at Tuas where a photographer tied down a baby bird to photograph the parent feeding it, as well as the time when several photographers were caught on camera using poisoned fish to bait an endangered eagle. Although these may sound like isolated incidents, this bad behaviour, especially the illegal use of bait, has been going on for a long time and several nature photographers are part of an organised group that plans and executes baiting operations in our parks and nature reserves.

TEENAGE BOYS AND GIRL RESCUED AFTER GETTING LOST IN NATURE RESERVE

A group of local teenagers - 3 boys aged 14, 18 and 20, and a girl aged 16 - were rescued from MacRitchie Reservoir on Sunday evening after they got lost in the sprawling nature reserve. The group had planned on a leisurely hike in the nature reserve on Sunday but somehow got lost while trekking through the thick vegetation.
