A report by the the online newsite Sarawak Report alleges that Malaysian PM Najib has gotten a RM30b injection of funds from a Chinese construction consortium into 1MDB to secretly pay off its debts. The situation seems to be getting messier by the day and PM Lee Hsien Loong would do well to pay attention to the red flags that are screaming “Go Slow!”

Malaysia on Wednesday announced that it will charge drivers of all foreign vehicles entering Johor Bahru. According to The Star, Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak said the decision to implement the Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP) fee was made following a request from the state. Johor Chief Minister Mohamed Khaled Nordin had said the Johor government suggested a VEP charge of RM20 (S$7.80), with RM5 going to the state government for road maintenance, for Singapore vehicles entering Malaysia through the Causeway and the Second Link.

Prime Minister Najib Razak has threatened to sue Malaysiakini for the news portal's publication of its readers' comments concerning his handling of the political crisis in Terengganu which erupted early this week. Najib's legal action was initiated in his personal capacity and jointly with Umno through law firm Hafarizam Wan & Aisha Mubarak.

"Malaysia won't succeed if the non-Muslims do not have the same opportunity,” Obama said in a townhall meeting for Asean youths at Dewan Tunku Cancelor in University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur today. Obama said non-Muslims in Malaysia are currently facing hostility, and some have felt oppressed.

Malaysia's former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has denied all allegations of being a part of any move to topple the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
