WILD BOAR CAUSED ACCIDENT AT AYE, TWO TAKEN TO HOSPITAL

A wild boar caused an accident on the AYE after the Tuas Checkpoint early on Thursday morning, and caused a traffic accident that sent two to hospital and killed the animal.

A male motorcyclist and his female pillion rider were taken to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, although their injuries were not revealed.

ENGINEER GETS JAIL FOR CAUSING DEATH OF SPEEDING BIKER

An engineer gets 10 days' jail and 5-year driving ban for causing a motorcyclist's death, even though the motorcyclist had been speeding in excess of 100km/hr on a main road. The man, S.N. Vasutavan, 69, made an illegal left turn from the centre lane of a road into a side road, resulting in a collision with a motorcyclist who subsequently died from multiple injuries.

The SBS driver who bulldozed 4 motorcyclists had reportedly stepped on the wrong pedal while waiting for the lights to turn green. MOTORCYCLE COE PREMIUMS RACING UPWARDS, JUMPS $600 FROM LAST RECORD HIGH

Motorcycle Certificate of Entitlement (COE) premiums have jumped $600 in the last bidding exercise, a new record high compared to the $7,483 quoted in the previous exercise. COE prices for cars have also risen, with Category A premiums rising nearly $1000 from $50,789 to $51,765 since the previous bidding exercise. Category B premiums rose from $53,300 last month to $54,000 in this exercise.

MOTORCYCLIST PINNED UNDER BUS @ TOA PAYOH LORONG 6 ACCIDENT

A motorcyclist ended up pinned under a bus after a colliion at Toa Payoh Lorong 6 yesterday at 11AM. According to a witness, 3 passers-by rushed forward to offer assistance to the injured biker, who was still conscious. One man provided aid to the victim while another sheltered him from the sun with an umbrella.
