This is a petition by concerned parents to MOE, urging MOE to protect schoolchildren from the haze. Parents are concerned about the long-term health risks of children being exposed to the haze at significantly elevated PM2.5 levels.

Shortly after news broke about the tragic death of a 14 year-old female student on the grounds of Spectra Secondary School in Woodlands, a netizen who lives in the vicinity of the school has come forward with shocking revelations about the bullying behavior of some students at the school. According to the netizen, Spectra students had on numerous occasions bullied their fellow Spectra students in public places while still wearing their school uniforms.

What is wrong with the Singapore policies? First, we don't have a good policy to create a talent-pool according to the demands and changes in economic commercial and industrial landscape of Singapore! I urge the MOE and MOM collectively put in place the changes required in creating for the next wave of talent-pool of IT professionals, intellectuals etc.

I've some concerns pertaining to protocols in school. My little one who is in primary one was constantly poked by her classmate with pencils which left marks on her arms. I called up her teacher to inform her of the incidents to which her teacher inform me she'll make some changes in the seating arrangement. True to her words, some swops were made the following day. However, she had told my daughter not to inform me subsequently!

After MOE announced increases to the monthly school fees paid by non-Singaporean students from 2016 onwards, PRC citizens living in the island state have brought their complains to WeChat forum 新加坡眼.

Fresh revelations from the Shuqun Secondary School bullying case suggests that that the 2 students who were at the receiving end of the bullying have been silently enduring the bully's actions for a long time. According to the 38 year-old aunt of one of the boys in the video, this was not the first time her nephew had been bullied by the same boy. The aunt, who declined to be named, added that if not for the video, the bullying would have gone unnoticed.

I was on my way to work this morning...and something caught my eye....a student from one of the international school in Singapore was participating her school P.E lesson and guess what she was wearing her Hijab... International School in Singapore allowed their student to wear Hijab which I am happy to see but our normal school in Singapore prohibited it.....Shame on you MOE

I am a mother of 3 school going children. I am appalled at the school bully video but I am more disturbed by MOE's response to the incident. MOE say that the students involved have been counselled and advised on boundaries. In other words, MOE is telling us parents nothing is going to happen to the bully. Is this the right kind of message we are sending to bullies these days? Is this the new style of parenting? Mollycoddling our young and shielding them from justified punishment and to teach them about taking responsibility for their actions?

MOE and the school are aware of the video that has been circulating online. The school has investigated and is counselling the students involved. The school will continue to work with the students involved on observing appropriate boundaries and behaviour in the future. All parents of students involved have been informed of the actions taken by the school."

As a former Social Studies MOE teacher i can attest that teachers were never asked or pressured in any way to promote PAP agenda. In fact we did set some Source Based Questions challenging and concluding that ministerial salaries were too high and housing is unaffordable. The HODs approves these, and this is seen in various school papers' answer keys, much to my bemusement.
