Fresh revelations from the Shuqun Secondary School bullying case suggests that that the 2 students who were at the receiving end of the bullying have been silently enduring the bully's actions for a long time. According to the 38 year-old aunt of one of the boys in the video, this was not the first time her nephew had been bullied by the same boy. I am a mother of 3 school going children. I am appalled at the school bully video but I am more disturbed by MOE's response to the incident. MOE say that the students involved have been counselled and advised on boundaries. In other words, MOE is telling us parents nothing is going to happen to the bully. As a former Social Studies MOE teacher i can attest that teachers were never asked or pressured in any way to promote PAP agenda. In fact we did set some Source Based Questions challenging and concluding that ministerial salaries were too high and housing is unaffordable. The HODs approves these, and this is seen in various school papers' answer keys, much to my bemusement.
