This guy came to my door to ask my injured mother to show her MC. He didn't believe I had to take care of her. The company then terminated me after that!

What do you think? Will they punish the supervisor or try to let the matter die down without giving us answers?

I really need advice on this. I am currently a contracted employee working in sales line. I have no basic, only paid commission, and paid REIMBURSEMENT for transport ONLY if I have closed 5 deals for that month, which is CAPPED at $85. (The adult concession is $120/month, the reimbursement doesn’t even fully cover that.)

Some firms give workers with good attendance monetary rewards, and most review medical leave records during appraisals, which can affect bonuses. This will definitely weed out those who take MCs just for the sake of taking one, even when not really sick, because they are lazy to go to work on certain days. But what if you are really a sickly person, or someone who falls sick easily? You might be workign hard, or even harder than most on the days you are at work, but unfortunately, you fall sick easier, and thus, more MCs taken.

Today, since it is the first day of work back for many after taking long leave, i see the clinics are all full of people. Usually, after a long weekend, clinics will be full of people, all hoping to get another day or two of MC. Are Singapore's working environment too stressful, that people cannot bring themselves to go to work after a long holiday? Or Singaporeans really so weak, so easily fall sick one? Or people really very very lazy one?

few weeks ago, I'm sick and taking mc for 2 days given by doctor and I inform my Boss about it but on my 2nd day of mc, someone from company call me that boss is not happy about I having mc for 2 days because Thursday and Friday and to them is that I'm taking long weekend.. The following week when I'm back office, my boss told me that if next time taking mc on Monday,Tuesday, Thursday or Friday. Tell me to take personal leave instead of mc and highlight that instruction from HR.
