HEAVY DOWNPOUR CAUSED TREE TO FALL ON PIE, NO INJURIES REPORTED

The heavy rain that affected Singapore this Friday morning have caused some havoc on the PIE heading towards Changi before the Lornie Road exit. A tree branch fell on the road, blocking one lane of the expressway. LTA confirmed via their Twitter account that at 10:14am, the tree branch fell on the expressway, causing a massive jam there. There were no reports of the tree falling on any vehicles that might have passed through during the particular time.

MASSIVE JAM AT PUNGGOL AND SENGKANG

This might be nothing new in Singapore, as there are jams everywhere on the expressways every morning as we head off to work. But today I guess is a bit different. There is a massive accident at TPE near Punggol, where normally the jam is of the slow moving kind. Today, some vehicles are just stuck idling, not moving at all. This lead to many roads in Punggol and Sengkang having bottlenecks, with cars not even able to get on to the expressway. Based on newspaper reports and reports on the radio, there was an accident that led to this massive jam. The accident, which occurred on the Tampines Expressway (TPE) in the direction of Changi Airport after the Lorong Halus exit, occurred at around 6.40am. It involved three cars and two motorcycles, said a police spokesman.
