PUB WORKER ATTACKS MAN WITH WINE OPENER AFTER HE CHAT UP BOSS' GIRLFRIEND

A pub worker was jailed and caned for attacking a customer with a wine opener around Peace Centre. Jerriek Chen Weixiong was angry at the male customer for trying to chat up his manager's girlfriend and followed him as he was leaving the pub. Armed with a wine opener, he punched the guy repeatedly with the sharp end of the opener in between his fingers, deliberately causing the man to get scratched and to bleed a lot.

Two other pub workers followed his example and attacked the victim. They were all arrested after the police arrived at the scene. The victim, Mr Tay, suffered injuries to his face and was taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital where he got multiple stitches. Loyal or stupid?

FOREIGN MANAGERS AT THE COFFEE BEAN DISCRIMINATE AGAINST LOCAL EMPLOYEES!

I have been working at The Coffee Bean as a full time barista with no clear advancement opportunities and would like to relate to all readers the unfairness of being a Singaporean worker at this place. Coffee Bean has a disproportional number of foreign and local managerial management employees and in the end, we have to put up with being lorded over by Malaysian and Filipina managers who are just lazy on the phone all the time and ride on the good work of their Singaporean collies. And these foreign managers who choose the off days for us pick only the best timings for themselves like Sundays as the Filipina managers claimed they need to go church which we all know is bull as that is the time they all gather with their comrades!

MRT TRAIN FAULT CAUSE DELAYS BUT MY CIBAI BOSS DUN BELIEVE ME!

My colleague was late today due to some minor train fault on NEL. She messaged our manager out of courtesy but look at how rudely our manager replied. This is getting too much. She has been here for only half a year, while my colleague has been here for almost 4 years. Under her new "leadership", two staff had already resigned. She is a 41 years old unmarried woman. She is the type who misspells people name in email, as well as reading whatsapp messages but not replying to it.

An hour later two ISETAN managers approached another staff at PUMA and conversed in Mandarin while throwing dirty looks at my sister and made hand signals indicating the headscarf she was wearing. She was then approached by the PUMA staff and was informed that she had to leave the premises as she was wearing a headscarf and should not be working there.

SG Banker Jobless After Forced to Resign by FT Manager

I have exhausted my resources and am expecting the writ of summons in a day or two, which will ultimately lead to my bankruptcy. I am trying to be positive to avoid depression. I left my prior banking job in 2013 due to the unpleasant work relationship with my superior. I worked with several bosses till the latest superior who is a FT turned PR. My performance rating was exceptional since I joined the company and the latter of average rating was given to me by my ex-FT boss. The reason being, I did not deliver the expectations where else in actual fact, I have actually contributed equally to all my team members.

Singapore could suffer if foreign managers return home

It would be unsurprising should this come at a cost to our national identity, should non-Singaporeans living here eventually leave when prospects in their home countries improve. At the same time, local graduates who encounter problems entering the workforce here might decide to work overseas, resulting in a brain drain, aggravating the problems brought about by our ageing population. Those who stay might face a lack of opportunities to develop their skills. Should the day come when non-Singaporean professionals leave, Singapore could suffer from a shortfall in skilled middle- and upper-level managers in our workforce.
