ANG MOH'S SG WIFE REFUSED TO MARRY LOCAL BECAUSE IT'S LIKE "DATING HER BROTHER"

A local female reader has sent us an anonymous email contributing her thoughts on why Asian women do not date men from their own culture and prefer Caucasian men. According to the reader, she grew up overseas and felt like dating Asian men was like "dating her brother". She says this is a common refrain among Asian women in the US.

HELP! MY MALE BOSS IS BITCHY AND MAKES LIFE DIFFICULT FOR ME AT WORK!

My bitchy boss has been trying to make my life difficult in the office by accusing me of doing things which I have not done. Yesterday was 1 big outburst between us because he had insisted that I had taken a 1-day mc which was not true and can be verified by several colleagues who saw me on that day. If he thinks he's right, he will simply shut off his mind from any explanations. My ex colleagues told me that he had ever shared with them, he just have to be 70% correct and he will insist that he's right though it was proven wrong. I am dreading to go to the office nowadays but I am unable to find an alternative solution till I find a new opening elsewhere.

UNFAIR TREATMENT: SEXISM AGAINST MALES IN THE SAF

Females can get into OCS with lower criteria, get commissioned easier, have lower punishments for same infractions, and get promoted faster as well. Also, the biggest 'sexism' under the SAF is that men have to work for 2 years for $480 while women can get market rates by signing on as regular/ME or joining as DXOs.

MOE TEACHER JAILED & CANED FOR MOLESTING 8 YR OLD GIRL STUDENT

During a weekend tuition class, a teacher asked one of the pupils to go to the back of the room to do some reading. He followed the eight-year-old girl, made her stand next to him and touched her private parts through her clothes, while the other pupils continued with their work, oblivious to what had happened. On Tuesday, the former primary school teacher, 27, was sentenced to a year in jail and three strokes of the cane, after pleading guilty to molesting the child on Oct 19 last year.

UNFAIR THAT WOMEN WANT EQUAL RIGHTS BUT AREN'T REQUIRED TO SERVE NS

While the recently released Institute of Policy Studies survey reveals ambivalence over whether National Service (NS) should be obligatory for women, my stand on the matter is unequivocal: Yes, it should. In a TODAY commentary last week, Mr Ho Shu Huang made an eloquent case for increasing efforts to accommodate volunteerism but, again, the manifest inequality embedded in the suggestion is that women should have a choice while men don’t — which I believe to be wrong on a number of levels. It has long irked me that NS should be a “male-only” affair: A sacred institution to be preserved, unquestioned like Catholic priesthood.
