MALAYSIAN DRUNK DRIVER WHO KILLED CERTIS CISCO OFFICER IN ACCIDENT JAILED

A Malaysian man, Manuel Ang Boon Jiat, 29, was jailed for one and a half years and disqualified from driving here for 10 years, for driving while drunk and killing an on-duty Certis Cisco Auxiliary officer. In February this year, Ang who had 12 glasses of beer, got into his car and failed to stop near the Tuas Checkpoint, eventually killing one of three officers on duty diverting traffic there.

Reports indicated that Ang, who was a salesman in Singapore, was on his way back to his home in Johor Bahru after a night of merry-making. At the same time, the officer, Lance Corporal Norman Samri, 33 and two other fellow colleagues were diverting traffic at the Tuas Checkpoint Departure Viaduct after a minor accident there around 1am on Feb 10. They were wearing yellow reflective vests with blinker lights placed on their shoulders, which can be easily seen. However, Ang failed to notice them, and failed to stop in time. He hit Lance Corporal Norman, who was standing in the centre lane of the three-lane road. He was flung upwards before landing near a concrete barrier on the extreme right lane. The other two Certis Cisco officers managed to jump out of the way.

MAN FACES 14 YRS JAIL & 22 STROKES, RAPED WOMAN & FORCED HER TO COOK FOR HIM

26 year old Yap Jun Cheng was sentenced to 14 years jail and 22 strokes of the cane for raping a woman back in 2013. At the time, the Malaysian woman was only 20 years old and was in Singapore to look for a job and a rental flat. Yap was then serving his NS with the SCDF.

Yap had been talking to the victim on Facebook for some time before offering to show her around Singapore. Upon meeting for the first time, he coerced her to his house in Tampines where he raped her twice and threatened to kill her. He also asked her to cook for him without her pants. His lawyer said he was remorseful for his actions but the incident had reportedly left the victim deeply traumatised.

M'SIAN CON COUPLE SEEN SHOPPING IN TAKASHIMAYA, STILL HURL VULGARITIES AT US

Beware of this con couple from Malaysia with a registered office in Singapore! They work for V2 Art Decor Pte Ltd, which offer event services. Once they receive your deposit they will be uncontactable. Last Saturday, my sister spotted the con artist, Howard Ng, at Takshimaya. He cheated her company of $48,000 deposit for a job that was never delivered. The con couple was apprehended and created a scene at Takashimaya shouting vulgarities and pointing middle finger. Such arrogance!

Security and police were called to the scene and the con couple was escorted to the security post. Everyone be careful!
