A maid in Sibu, Malaysia has given new meaning to the term “crazy cat lady”. The allegedly “possessed” maid ate her employer’s pet kitten alive on Thursday, leaving the remains strewn in front of the house. Upon the gruesome discovery, the house owner confronted the maid, who had apparently been acting weirdly for the past two weeks. “When I queried her, she told me she had eaten the kitten,” she said.

New clubhouse for maids opens near Tanjong Pagar

Domestic workers now have a new clubhouse where they can spend their days off from work. A 2,800 sqf space at 10 Raeburn Park, near the former Tanjong Pagar Railway Station, features karaoke facilities, a library and a computer lab. It was opened on Sunday afternoon by non-profit organisation, the Foreign Domestic Worker Association for Social Support and Training (Fast).

A domestic helper was walking with a young girl in school uniform. The girl was probably 14, 15 or so. The domestic helper was carrying a heavy bag of grocery and a backpack which looked like the young girl’s school bag. The young girl was carrying an umbrella. It had just stopped raining. As I passed the couple, I saw the young girl handing over the umbrella to the house help, and the house help taking it. The girl was then walking, arms completely free. The helper had her grocery bag in one hand, the umbrella in the other hand and the backpack on her back.
