After GE2015, Hougang SMC became longest Opposition Seat (1991-2020=29 Years). Potong Pasir stopped at 27 Years (1984-2011). After GE2015, Low Thia Khiang became longest serving Opposition MP (1991-2020=29 Years). Chiam See Tong stopped at 27 Years (1984-2011).

I refer to your article on Sunday about Mr Goh Chok Tong urging voters to judge both WP and PAP by the same standards. I find this hard as a voter of Aljunied and even harder when the people of Singapore more or less tends to side with the WP though they have failed in their job of running a Town Council as alleged by the Judge while most of them have also failed as orators.

As an Aljunied GRC resident I was pleased to hear that the WP team led by Mr Low Thia Khiang will be staying to contest the next General Elections. The WP team have performed well in the Parliament directing pertinent questions at the ruling PAP. Although they have not done so well in the managment of the town council, I would still say that my estate is clean and well maintained.

Workers’ Party (WP) secretary-general Low Thia Khiang responded to Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean’s accusations today, saying that "if DPM wants to comment that way, let Singaporeans judge and see this is the standard of the PAP in politics."

Many would find it strange and uncomfortable hearing or reading this, Prime Minister Low Thia Khiang or Prime Minister Sylvia Lim. There seems to be something missing, not the right mold, doesn’t sound right. Singaporeans have been so use to a PM from the PAP that anyone from anywhere would not be comfortable. PM Chee Soon Juan, PM Tan Jee Say anyone?

Workers' Party (WP) Secretary-General Low Thia Khiang said today that he will stay on to contest in Aljunied Group Representative Constituency (GRC) this coming General Elections. He added that that his party is committed to avoiding 3 cornered fights as much as possible.

I remembered very clearly on that Sunday night, Low Thia Khiang dropped by unannounced alone. For the record, we did not know him personally. Mr Low paid his respects to my ah ma, signed the condolence book and spent an hour plus talking to my family. No media, no reporters around at all. Just himself. This is what I call sincerity, and for that we are extremely grateful. He wasn't wayang-ing or trying to score publicity points unlike so many other PAP MPs.

A good leader is more than just bringing up the economy, having good credentials or having an extensive job resumes, a good leader requires someone with critical thinking and able to solve the country's problems well, a talent you are either born with or not, currently I can say the politicians who has the most potential to lead this country forward is Low Thia Khiang, Tan Jee Say and Tharman

I would like to feedback and I hope you will find an opportunity to talk to Mr Low. I read in previous news reports of how Mr Low cares for his residents and so on but I now find that it is not true. I've been to see him on my cheating case a number of times and find that he doesn't really like to help and wish we could just go away instead.
