CHEE SOON JUAN WRITES TO PM LEE TO CALL FOR A BY-ELECTION

Singapore Democratic Party's Chee Soon Juan has written to PM Lee to call for a By-Election for Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC in light of Mdm Halimah Yacob's resignation. He asked if PM Lee agrees with Mr Chan Chun Sing for previously saying that there will not be a By-Election. If he does not receive a response, he will "proceed to take the necessary steps to rectify the situation".

LHL LIFTING OF PARTY WHIP SHOWS PAP DONT ALLOW QUESTIONS USUALLY

What on earth does PM Lee mean when he says he is "lifting the whip" for the parliamentary sitting on 3 July? Lifting the whip is only for voting on bills. In this case, no bill is under consideration. He's just planning to make a statement. If he means that PAP members of parliament will be free to ask any question or make any comment they wish, then it has always been their right as MPs whether or not the whip is lifted. This simply goes to show that the PAP does not ordinarily allow its MPs to ask any question or make any comment they deem appropriate in parliament UNLESS the PM says (in a misuse of the term) the whip is lifted.

LEE HSIEN YANG: LHL HAS "ERRONEOUS" MEMORY OF WHAT HAPPENED

The Lee family drama continues. Despite LHL's claim that the siblings did not respond to his secret Committee's questions about the Will, Lee Hsien Yang refuted that both of them already answered responded back in February. He also accused LHL of having an "erroneous" memory of what happened. Ouch.

"Loong claims, 'my siblings had not responded to the Committee's questions about how the last will was prepared and the role that Mrs Lee Suet Fern and lawyers from her legal firm played in preparing the last will.'
This is a lie. We replied on 28 Feb, 'The Final Will was not drafted by Stamford Law Corporation or Mr. Ng Joo Khin and LHL's claimed recollection to that effect is clearly erroneous.' LHL's secret committee ignored it. Besides, we thought this was a "private family matter?"

PM LEE: THIS BY-ELECTION ENABLES RESIDENTS OF BB TO HAVE THEIR OWN MP

I would like to refer you to this Facebook update by PM Lee about the by-election of Bukit Batok.

He said, "DPM Teo and I spoke earlier. Now that the Budget is out of the way, we are calling this by-election to enable residents of Bukit Batok to have their own MP as we work together to improve Singaporeans’ lives."

What does he mean by that? The residents just chose their MP last year in 2015. Does he mean they were not "enable" last year? The only reason why they are "enable" to choose so to speak is because David Ong had an affair AKA personal indiscretion. It is not "enable".
