ROY NGERNG WORKS 2 WEEKS AS A TOILET CLEANER

My back was aching from the cleaning, but the clinic was going to open in another hour and I couldn’t stop to rest. Otherwise, I would be cleaning while the patients were walking in and it would be inconvenient to them. Unknown to most people, after I lost my job in the middle of June, I took up a cleaning job for about 2 weeks. A friend of mine had asked me if I knew anyone who could do some cleaning work for the clinic that he works at, as his cleaning lady was going on leave. I volunteered as I had just got out of a job, and I thought that it would be a useful experience to learn from.

GAMBLERS IN SINGAPORE PRAISE THE PAP GOVERNMENT

This morning's (9 July) World Cup semi-final has produced one of the most extraordinary results in World Cup history. WHAT ABOUT ROY NGERNG?

Even then Roy exaggerated. PM Lee's lawyers had sent him a cease and desist letter, which said that PM Lee would sue Roy if he did not apologize and remove his offending post. Roy used the opportunity to muddy the water even more by saying he was being sued. If Roy really was being sued there and then the lawyer's letter would have just said we will see you in court instead of basically giving Roy a way out to avoid going to court by apologizing etc. Roy did post an apology as asked. But in the same breathe he also called for Singaporeans to attend the Return our CPF protest on June 7 and announced that he will continue to fight for all of us.

PM Lee defends the civil servants who defended him

What is at stake is not any short-term positive or negative impact on the government, but the sort of public debate Singapore should have. When someone makes false and malicious personal allegations that impugn a person’s character or integrity, the victim has the right to vindicate his reputation, whether he is an ordinary citizen or the prime minister. The internet should not be exempt from the laws of defamation. It is perfectly possible to have a free and vigorous debate without defaming anyone, as occurs often in Singapore.
