Today ten paper manufacturers have declared that they do not use products from five companies in Indonesia alleged to have contributed to the haze. More such declarations are needed for consumers to make conscious decision when purchasing paper and palm oil related products. If there is anyway to stop the haze, consumers must take the lead in refusing to buy such products; but this can only be done if companies are pressured to declare that their products do not harm our environment.

LEAD FOUND IN HK WATER SUPPLY, LEADERS SAY THEY ARE “HIGHLY CONCERNED”
A water scare is brewing in Hong Kong over excessive lead content found in Hong Kong's water supplies. Initial tests revealed excessive levels of lead in the water from the Kai Ching Estate in Kowloon City, while three more samples have been found to breach World Health Organisation (WHO) safety levels.

Indian shopkeepers withdrew a popular brand of Nestle instant noodles from their shelves on Wednesday after tests revealed the snack contained unsafe levels of lead. A Nestle spokesperson said a majority of Maggi noodles produced in India are sold in India but a limited amount are exported to the U.S. , Canada, the United Kingdom, Kenya and Singapore.
