OXLEY RD DISPUTE SHOWS DIFFERENT LAWS FOR ELITES, HOW CAN WE "NORMAL PPL" BE CONFIDENT?

Our reader is disappointed by the Oxley Road dispute as it shows double standards in Singapore - one set of laws for the elite, and another for ordinary Singaporeans. LHY and LWL are allowed to cast aspersions at the PM over a course of 2 weeks without facing any legal action while less powerful Singaporeans are subjected to the law of defamation and lawsuit if they do the same.

"How do you explain, Mr Tharman, this double standards? You said... 'Have confidence, folks.' Perhaps you should try on the shoes of those who have been sued, bankrupted or gone into exile. As one who supports you being PM, I am disappointed at your nonchalance in this saga."

JAPANESE COMPANY & FORMER EMPLOYEE LOCKED IN WAR OF WORDS

As reported earlier, a Japanese company, Tanesei Trading Pte Ltd, fired a local Singaporean and told her that it did not need to give her employee benefits under a "special agreement" between the Singapore government and the Japanese Embassy. However, the company has now taken a hostile stance against their former employee and has threatened to sue her and A.S.S. for exposing the misdeeds of the company. The company has also arrogantly declared that any complaints to the Ministry of Manpower will be useless.

The crowdfund for my court case is over, as of now I’ve managed to raise approximately 20 thousand dollars, and it’s a pretty awkward turn of events…That estimate was really off, ultimately I didn’t really need that much money, in fact I don’t even think we’ve finished using up the $1500 deposit sent to my lawyers. My fellow donatees, can I perhaps pocket the money?
