A DEVOUT CHRISTIAN: FCBC PASTOR LAWRENCE KHONG HAS A BASTARD GRANDSON!

To be fair to Lawrence Khong, he is exemplary in his love and devotion to his illegitimate grandson and you can't find a better grandfather to take over his role. He treats his daughter who is the unwed mother with the undying love of a doting father and she continues to be his partner in the magic shows that they stage. Yes, he is the pastor of his independent church but he's also a professional magician. Both his daughter and grandson are well-accepted in his church and absolutely nobody discriminates against them.

ARCHBISHOP WILLIAM GOH: GAYS CAN BE IN A RELATIONSHIP BUT THEY CANNOT HAVE SEX

The Church does not disapprove of a loving relationship between same-sex individuals that is chaste and faithful but a sexual relationship between same-sex individuals as it is not in accordance with the divine plan of God. Same-sex inclination in itself is not a sin but as love often seeks to express itself physically, the challenge to be chaste and faithful to the divine plan of God is ever present. I apologize if my initial statement conveyed insensitivity as from your feedback, I have come to realize that there is much variation in thought and lifestyle within this community.

[YOUR LETTERS] GAY SEX LAW SECTION 377A REMOVED, SO WHAT’S NEXT?

Naturally, after the successful repeal of 377A, I think the liberals will lobby for gay marriages. It is going to be a big overhaul of our laws: Woman's charter, Muslim Marriage Act and Inheritance Act as I remember these laws specifically use the word "woman". I am sure the word "spouse" has to be re-defined. Male-gay couples have no problems with adopting children as there is a loophole in the adoption system in Singapore which allows a single male to adopt children as long as the adopter passes the minimum age requirement.

IS PINK DOT PROMOTING LGBT LIFESTYLE OR ASKING FOR ACCEPTANCE?

It is important that everyone accepts and respects one another despite our differences. I have many friends, including some I recently met, who are LGBTs (lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgenders), and I accept and respect them for who and what they are. I wonder if the event is one that is just asking for acceptance and tolerance for all LGBTs or if it has become one that is promoting the LGBT lifestyle, because there is a difference between the two.

PEOPLE OF PINK DOT 2014

“I came here because my daughter asked me to.” “I have friends and colleagues who are gay…” she added, when I asked if she knew anyone who identified as LGBT. She later took pictures with stage actor and director Ivan Heng, who cross dressed as a samsui woman.

BATTLE FOR THE MIDDLE GROUND

"My own sense is that while a majority of Singaporeans may disapprove of gay practices, they take the stand that people should have the freedom to choose how they want to live their lives, as long as they do not impose their values and preferences on others," says sociologist Tan Ern Ser. "This reflects post-materialist values supportive of self-expression." Institute of Policy Studies senior research fellow Mathew Mathews thinks there will be more "activistic" campaigning to come. "Over the years, as the world changes, more values will be different. You can expect quite a lot of alternative ways of doing things, and more debates in return," he says. "I don't expect there to be any less."

Christian leaders must draw ‘clear line’ on Lawrence Khong issue

I would urge all Singapore Christian leaders to reassess if they would continue to let Lawrence Khong represent the faith. This is a pastor who claims that magic and illusions is God's work and that it is the Creator's way of speaking to us. This is a pastor who wears an Armani suit to deliver a sermon and proudly tells the congregation that God has plans for him to be a celebrity star (hence the need to wear branded) so that he can spread Jesus' teachings. This is a pastor who sacked a heavily pregnant staff and refused to compensate her just because she did not “repent” in a certain manner that he wanted her to. This is a pastor that leads a church whose members go around smashing Taoist idols and Chinese ancestral tablets after they converted someone. Is this what Jesus preached? "To love one another as I have loved you."

Govt leaders must draw ‘clear line’ on LGBT issue: pastor

Ahead of the annual Pink Dot gathering this evening (June 28), Senior Pastor Lawrence Khong of Faith Community Baptist Church fired his latest salvo, questioning the objectives of event organisers and the Government’s stance on the issue. “I find it totally confounding that Pink Dot is allowed to promote its agenda,” Mr Khong said in a statement issued yesterday. “I find it even more disconcerting that the event is being used as a platform of public persuasion to push its alternative lifestyle.”

A SINKIE’S MESSAGE TO CHRISTIANS, MUSLIMS AND HOMOSEXUALS

How did it turn to this? How did our chillax little Singapore turn into this circus where people start thinking only about themselves, their needs and ignore the repercussions on others, the feelings of others? When I say this, I am referring to the Catholics, Christians, the Muslims and the Homosexuals. All of you. All of you are guilty of intolerance and being full of yourselves. It's as though the whole world revolves only around your needs and wants. How about the others? How about Singaporeans who just wish to lead their lives in relative peace and quiet?

PASTOR: CHURCH MUST WORK WITH LIKE-MINDED GROUPS TO OPPOSE PINK DOT!

Last month, the NUS Centre for Asian Legal Studies at the Faculty of Law held a book launch for Mobilising Gay Singapore, which was written by law professor Lynette Chua. Citing the launch, Mr Khong said: “Every pastor should read this (book) to find out what our premier university is promoting. It’s clear the LGBTs in Singapore have been strategising for some 20 years to normalise homosexuality in our nation.”
