Are you a fan of private hire car services? For passenger safety, LTA is stepping up enforcement against unlicensed private hire cars. More frequent checks will be conducted at hotspots, such as Clarke Quay, Resorts World Sentosa and East Coast Seafood Centre, to weed out those plying illegally for fares. LTA has recently charged one driver under the Road Traffic Act for plying illegally for fares and charging exorbitant fares for rides. He was fined a total of $15,000, disqualified from driving for a year and LTA is seeking to forfeit his car.

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has completed its review of Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) rates for the December 2016 school holidays. In line with the ERP rate adjustment of $1 per Passenger Car Unit (PCU), ERP rates at the following roads and expressways during the specified time periods will be reduced by $1.00 per PCU (except where the current ERP rate is $0.50 per PCU[1]).
