Yet another day of train delays during the morning rush hour! Both the North-South and East-West lines are affected due to "intermittent power", with SMRT warning commuters of longer intervals in between stations. Some people were unhappy that SMRT posted about the delay only at 7.26am when it happened more than an hour earlier. As of a few minutes ago, SMRT updated that there was also a track fault at Commonwealth station and said its engineers are carrying out checks.

The body of a 26 year old man was found at Jurong Lake at 8.10am this morning. The SCDF were alerted to a floating body at the lake and sent two fire engines, fire bikes and a support vehicle to the scene. The man was pronounced dead at the scene in a case of unnatural death. Police are investigating the case.

Train operator SMRT has defended its staff's actions on Tuesday when the Lakeside MRT station platform on the East West Line was overcrowded due to train delays. A commuter had taken a video of people pouring onto the packed platform and jostling others when they came up on the escalator. The commuter said announcements had been made about train delays on the line but claimed SMRT ground staff did not tell people to stop using the escalator.
