KPE FIRE SHOWS LTA LACKS A PROPER EVACUATION PLAN?

From this incident, it portrays, whether rightly or wrongly, that LTA does not have a proper set of evacuation plans and this can be a major problem, if it was true. With Singapore being a prominent target by terrorists as our government never fail to remind us, the transport infrastructure can be vulnerable targets.

LTA SHOULD BAN ALL HEAVY VEHICLES FROM OUR TUNNELS

This morning, there was an accident inside the KPE tunnel where a tipper truck turned turtle after hitting the road divider. Many heavy vehicle and commercial vehicle Drivers are speeding on the expressways nowadays and it's a matter of time where a catastrophe is going to happen. Commercial vehicles and heavy vehicles should be banned from using tunnels and expressways.

LTA and traffic police, the ball is in your court now, please ban these heavy vehicles from the expressways and tunnels before more accidents is going to happen. Act now!

LTA TO CHARGE ERP AT KPE GANTRY, CONGESTION ROLLED OUT TO JUSTIFY CAHRGE

The LTA has decided that more roads are congested and thus, ERP is required to ease these congestions. Either that, or they want more money for motorists to pay, as if not enough had already been paid to the LTA. Anyways, today's reports indicated that the ERP will be activated during morning peak hours at the Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE) after Defu Flyover from May 8.

The current rate of $2 for the KPE gantry will apply between 7am and 9.30am on weekdays. This is also on top of the news that the current ERP rates along the stretch on Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE), after North Buona Vista Road towards Tuas, will be doubled to $2 from May 8.

NEW TEMPORARY RD TO CONNECT PUNGGOL EAST TO KPE THIS SAT

The Land Transport Authority has informed that a temporary road that connects Punggol East to the KPE will open this Saturday at 3 p.m. (26 Mar 2016).

This new road is single-lane and it spans across Sungei Serangoon. The temporary road will only serve vehicles with a height of up to 2.4 metres and an unladen weight of 2,500kg. This will provide motorists from the area with a more direct link to KPE.

[EPIC] HIGH SPEED TRAFFIC POLICE CHASE FROM PUNGGOL TO CBD

Like a scene out of an American action blockbuster, police were led on a high-speed chase through the KPE to ECP on Monday night around 8pm when a Mazda 3 drove through a police road block in KPE during a routine operation. While cornered in a carpark, police had to ram the motorist to prevent him from escaping. Realising there was no escape, the motorist finally exited the vehicle where he was quickly subdued by police officers.
