CITY HARVEST CHURCH AUDITOR FOUND SOME CHURCH TRANSACTIONS UNUSUAL
The lead auditor of the City Harvest Church's accounts said he found some of the church's transactions "a bit unusual". Taking the stand for the first day on Friday, Sim Guan Seng of Baker Tilly said for the transactions he found unusual, he would then ask the church management board for its business rationale. Mr Sim is the auditor who posed several questions as to the authenticity of the bond transactions between the church, events firm Xtron and the church's fund manager, AMAC Capital Partners. Xtron had issued S$13 million worth of bonds which AMAC bought.

She turned up at the Subordinate Courts in one of her shop's dresses earlier on Monday (Jan 13). Netizens took notice of the white and blue V-neck piece, although a handful remarked how it resembled the uniform of a beer promoter. The dress retails for $48 on the website, which went live earlier this month. A black sleeveless dress Wee wore to court yesterday (Jan 14) is also available online for $52.

The third tranche of the trial of City Harvest Church leaders resumed this morning (Jan 13), with public passes to observe proceedings at the Subordinate Courts given out at 7.15am. The distribution of passes took place later today than with the first two tranches, when church members queued overnight to get a seat in court. Six City Harvest leaders — one of whom is no longer with church — are accused of misusing millions of dollars belonging to the church between January 2007 and October 2008.
