WHY I LEFT CITY HARVEST CHURCH

“Give and you shall be given back ten fold, a hundred fold, a thousand fold,” he would quote from the bible. My tithes and offerings had to be going somewhere, and if it was used to finance Ho’s music career, I was none the wiser. Not that it mattered. To me, and to many believers I knew, we were giving unto God. If the person who managed the finances was corrupt, it didn’t matter. What mattered was what I know to be good and true.

10 YEAR CHC VETERAN: WHY I FINALLY LEFT KONG HEE’S CHURCH

Eventually this ongoing scandal reveal way too much for me to stay in denial. Church fund was used for the Crossover. Not any ordinary fund but the BUILDING FUND! Which Pst. Kong time and again assured during services that Building Fund is only used to cover rentals, renovation and strictly anything to do with the physical church building. It comes to a point where I say 'enough is enough' and I left. Those who left may felt just like me initially. Lost, not sure what to do. Lose all friends you made in church over the past 10 years. 10 years, it was like a dream, and woke up to face reality.

FORMER KONG HEE SUPPORTER SPEAKS OUT

I was an Executive Member in CHC, and I did vote with my mind and heart to give the Board the mandate to invest the money into bonds for higher returns so that we can be good stewards of money, as Pastor Kong explained. So it invested in bonds of Xtron (XPL, supposedly a leading AVL company) which were supposed to earn interest at an acceptable risk… but apparently now we found out in court that it went around the world via CHCKL to pay for parts of the Crossover expenses and Xtron is technically not in profit.

CHC’S KONG HEE & SUN HO EACH TAKES HOME $500,000 SALARY EVERY YEAR

At yesterday’s court hearing (19 Aug), former CHC treasurer Chew Eng Han alleged that Kong and his wife took about $450,000 to $500,000 each year between 2007 and 2009 as Ms Ho’s music artist salary, bonuses and royalties. Chew tried to show that Kong was a liar and was more deeply involved than he let on about the alleged misuse of around $50 million of the church’s money, and was someone more interested in personal gain than in CHC’s interests.

CHC PASTOR KONG HEE: MY WIFE’S CONCERTS WERE A HUGE SUCCESS
