If it is not for Singapore providing such opportunity to grow in my knowledge, I would not have such comfortable life right now. Also, if it is not City Harvest Church for guiding my well being as a person, I would not have become who I am today.

LAWYER EXPLAINS WHY CHC SENTENCES LESS THAN MAN WHO STOLE FROM MOSQUE
When the High Court halved the sentences of City Harvest Church leaders in its recent judgement, Singapore's social media exploded with anger and disbelief. Many netizens felt that the court was being too lenient to founding pastor Kong Hee and his management team, who embezzled over $50 million in church funds to fund his wife's lavish pop star lifestyle in the United States.

Also, wrong analogy. What you eat, doesn't really compare because you NEED to eat to survive. 10% of monthly salary and donations which are pretty much either enforced and/or pressured into is not a NEED. And from what I know of other religions, donations are for maintaining the building of worship and its caretakers, i.e monks, prophets, pastors, priests, etc, etc. Not like city harvest church. Aggressive marketing and recruiting, forced 10% of salary to be donated to pastor, donations are being pressured.

A City Harvest church member Desmond Loo has asked for people to let his church move on so that they can start their "healing process". Although he claims to respect the judicial system, he wondered why the authorities are saying that the matter is not over yet despite having 7 years to think about it. He even tagged PM Lee in a FB post in describing the long ordeal the church members faced. "We the church had to endure questions on why we remain (in the church) for over 7 years. But in that 7 years, we continued to give. Not because we are brainwashed or less intelligent that the average Singaporean, but because this is our home, our church. Pas Kong Hee is our pastor, and he carries the responsibility of leading us, the church into spiritual maturity.." He also said that the church will continue to support the Crossover Project if there was a version 2. "For 7 years, this church family kept mostly silent and focused on what the church believed in. The Crossover was to be an extension of these beliefs, and we supported it fully. If there is a Crossover II launched tomorrow, this 15,000 who remains the church today, will support like we did in the early 2000s." Wah really so selfless or not? Make Sun Ho happy only. #MoreChinaWine

I see a lot of comments criticising MP Edwin Tong for being Kong Hee's lawyer. This is ignorant and absolutely ridiculous. Firstly, everybody is innocent until proven guilty. Everybody has the right to the best defence they can get. Edwin was hired by Kong Hee when he was innocent in the eyes of the law. And no lawyer drops a client just because they have been found guilty - they follow through with the appeal process until he has done his utmost professional best for his client.

City Harvest church members continue to express support and respect for their almighty abba Kong Hee even though he was found guilty of misappropriating church funds. They claim him to be a miracle pastor who give them strength to overcome difficult times in their lives and did not regret being part of CHC. Some still believe the Crossover project saved hundreds and thousands of people. Someone even hope for the church leaders to have a chance to appeal again so they can get a "clean sheet". What do you think? Are they loyal or brainwashed?

I tried to talk him out of it but he already looks up to Kong Hee as a role model in life! What do I do now?! Hey kiddo, money don't come easy hor. Don't play play.
