FERNVALE RESIDENTS: WE EXPECT HDB TO REFUND BACK OUR DEPOSITS
We believe that if there were information which could help HDB to fetch a better price for the BTOs (eg. Mall, LRT stations, amenities etc), HDB would surely have put them up prominently and affirmatively. We expect HDB to do likewise for information (eg. Columbarium) that may make the flats less attractive to most buyers and thus, fetch lower prices for HDB. These are not “isolated cases” but happened in a massive scale. Thus, we feel that HDB should not treat our demand for refund without other penalties as a case by case basis. HDB should be more transparent and fair in dealing with all those who wanted a full refund.Read More »

Esso bid a record $27 million for a 2,000 square metre 10-year lease site in Ang Mo Kio. This was an almost 100% increase from the average $15 million in the past.. $27 million for a 10-year lease works out to rent of $225,000 a month or $7,500 a day. WHEN HOUSING BECOMES UNAFFORDABLE FOR THE NEXT GENERATION
Will you sit in the coffee shop and complain? Mommy, that’s what old uncles do. I belong to the Generation X who were taught from young to follow rules – study well, get a good job, and work hard to improve our lives. We don’t talk about dreams. It is a luxury. We talk about increment, promotion, upgrade and social status. We learn from the Occupy Central that Generation Y are not easily contented with just allowances, peers, social media, computer games or high-tech gadgets.Read More »
