HDB 99 YEAR LEASE TIME BOMB COULD CAUSE PROPERTY MARKET COLLAPSE

At least TWO PAP Ministers (Khaw Boon Wan & Lawrence Wong) have confirmed my point about the HDB 99 Year Lease being ZERO in value when the lease expired. This is an important critical fact that most Singaporeans have ignored for decades and despite of such reality, Singaporeans are still pumping huge amount of money willingly into HDB resale market which in turn, pushes up the new BTO HDB flats!

KHAW TARGETS RAIL RELIABILITY TO IMPROVE, BREAKDOWN ON THE HORIZON?

He wants trains to travel an average 300,000km before a major disruption occurs. This is an improvement of 72% over last year, where trains traveled 174,000km on average before encountering delays of more than five minutes. Already very difficult to hit 200,000km before breakdown, he is targeting a 72% improvement? A very ambitious man indeed. Good for most of us if this target is achieved, but can it be done? But, knowing the way MRT trains are run these days, whenever Khaw open his mouth, some major disruption occur.

FEWER FOREIGN STUDENTS TURNING TO SG FOR STUDIES, PRIVATE EDUCATION IN DECLINE

In 2012, there were 100,000 locals and 35,000 foreign students studying in private schools in Singapore. By 2015, the number has fallen to 77,000 locals and 29,000 foreigners. In 2016, Singapore saw the closure of 25 private schools due to fewer foreign students coming in to fill enrollment numbers. The Committee For Private Education (CPE) says a total of 42 schools were de-registered in 2015 and 2016 alone.

WHEN U ARE BEING ROBBED, ASK FOR ROBBER’S PARTICULARS COZ MINSTER SAYS SO

If you are ever robbed in Singapore, please remember to get the name, IC number and address of the robber. "We are most sympathetic to the taxi drivers who experience such incidents. But if the taxi driver could not tell us the identity of the person, other than saying that the person is of a particular race, or gender, it is very hard for us to track down the person." ~ Khaw Boon Wan.

HAS KHAW BOON WAN LIVED UP TO HIS REPUTATION AS “MINISTER FIX-IT”?

During GE2015, a major contention point was the state of Singapore’s transport system. PM Lee had even commented on the frequent train breakdowns, saying that “despite [such] incidents, I am confident that we are heading in the right direction, to get the public transport system that Singaporeans deserve.”. Not surprisingly, all eyes were pointing to Khaw for his “fix-it” abilities, especially since he had successfully revamped the red-hot housing market: How has he fared after a year in the position? We have yet to see any fundamental changes to the transport system; the government contracting model was introduced in 2014 and the sale of rail assets to the government is essentially an extension of the contracting model.

LKY WOULD HAVE FIRED TRANSPORT CHIEFS KHAW & KUEK LONG AGO FOR THEIR INCOMPETENCE

Singapore's Circle Line began operations in 2011 and within 5 shorts years experienced multiple breakdowns. Yesterday's breakdown was one of its worst, with affected commuters stranded for more than 2 hours. Inconvenience aside, the most unacceptable aspect of these breakdowns is LTA and SMRT's utter incompetence in diagnosing the cause of the problem. Lee Kuan Yew would definitely turn in his grave at how inept his successor Lee Hsien Loong is at solving the issues Singapore face.

KHAW’S LOGIC: RISE IN BUS FARE MAKES ITS MORE AFFORDABLE

According to this news reports, bus fares are set to rise very soon. Once again, Minister Khaw decided to khaw kee gong, khaw kee song again, ownself declaring that bus fares will be affordable if raised. This is consistent with Khaw's logic that rise in major breakdowns as MRT gets more reliable. Khaw talks about Harakiri like he actually means it. When Oil prices drop, fares actually increase. Before GE2015, fares drop. After GE, fares rise again! Zhai zhai one, same pattern see until don't want to see!
