SUPERMARKET TURF WAR LEADS ONE TO OFFER FREE LORRY RIDES

The main customers to the supermarket, situated at Toh Guan Road in Jurong East, are migrant workers, according to Ms Mo Mei Lian, 43, owner of the store. She told Lianhe Zaobao since last month their rival reached out to the workers at their dormitory areas. On 23 August, it came to their attention that the new mart distributed flyers just outside workers’ dormitory. On 10 September, they were surprised that their rival was offering free lorry rides for workers to visit their store at Jurong West.

ONLY LIFT THAT SERVES RESIDENTS AT JURONG WEST BLOCK STILL CLOSED AFTER 2 MTHS

The lift was closed for maintenance works in July, after an incident where the lift fell four storeys to the ground floor and left one woman injured. Residents now have to take the stairs to their units, and some have voiced their frustrations, and noted that pregnant women and the elderly would be the ones that will be greatly affected by this inconvenience.

VEGETABLE STALL OWNER REFUSE TO PAY UP, THREATEN DEBT COLLECTORS WITH CHOPPER

A woman who works at a vegetable stall at Jurong West market threatened her debt collectors with a 10cm-long chopper. The 4 debt collectors had approached her to claim her $20,000 debt when she brandished a knife at them and dared them to stab her. When asked by police, she said she was using the knife in self defence as she was "bullied" by the debt collectors who even threatened to kill her husband. Not sure if the debt collectors were being "nice", but they actually went to her stall with a sign that read "debt collection in progress, do not panic". Who bully who, like that? THREE FOREIGN WOMEN ARRESTED FOR VICE ACTIVITIES IN HDB FLAT

Police have arrested three foreign women aged between 37 and 42 for providing sexual services. It was understood that all three women are from China, and they were arrested in a raid conducted by the Police at at Jurong West Street 65 on Wednesday. All three were on valid social visit passes, but had abused their passes by committing vice related offences. It was also believed that the vice activities were carried out at the Jurong West flat itself. The women had advertised their sexual services on various online websites, and condoms and lubricants were seized as case exhibits. One woman had just arrived in Singapore, and had not unpacked her luggage. Two large packs of condoms were found in her luggage.

I saw this video online where a man and woman caned their young primary school daughter at the bottom of blk 410 Jurong West in the evening. The woman stood over the little girl and books were thrown on the ground. The girl pleaded for mercy and said "i dont want" in chinese many times. The mother tore up a piece of paper and caned the girl.

JURONG WEST RESIDENTS WENT ALMOST 6 HOURS WITHOUT GAS ON FRIDAY

A gas leak from a damaged underground pipe caused about 1,305 households in 12 HDB flats at Jurong West to go without gas. The gas disruption occurred on Friday afternoon. There was also a fire that broke out at the void deck of one of the blocks as a direct result of the gas leak. Fortunately, SCDF managed to put out the fire. Reports indicated that some work were being carried out at the underground pipe which got damaged. All affected blocks had their gas supply back on by 9pm. SP Group indicated that the gas pipes were switched off as a precautionary measure and to isolate the leak while engineers repair the damaged pipe and restore supply.
