TUAS EXTENSION MRT LINE OPEN, BUT NOT ALL TRAINS WILL HEAD THERE

SMRT announced in a media statement that the 4 new stations on the East West Line's Tuas Extension will start operations from June 18 onward. The four stations, namely Tuas Link, Tuas West Road, Tuas Crescent and Gul Circle, will however, only operate at an interval of four to five minutes during peak hours, and every eight to ten minutes during non-peak hours. This means that not every train that stops at Joo Koon station will continue on to Tuas. Instead, it will be every alternate trains that will proceed on. LTA and SMRT will monitor the demand and ridership along the new extension and increase train service frequency accordingly. No explanation given as to why the authorities decided not all trains will continue on to Tuas.
